John Wayne, Sam Elliot, Robert Duvall, My Mother, My Aunt Evelyn, and all the cowboys and their ladies who were brave enough to settle this place we call Texas
About me: I'm an award winning author of western romance novels. I won the prestigious 2003 National Readers' Choice Award for my second book called "The Cowboy Who Came Calling." And I was fortunate enough to capture the Texas Gold Award for all three of my single titles.
I love writing about cowboys, their ladies, and the early days of Texas. Our state has such a great and storied history about the brave people who settled this wild land. It was a time when a man's word was his bond, when people respected each other and the law, and when the value of a hard-earned dollar meant something.
My most recent work is "The Love Letter" part of an anthology of Texas romance stories written by four Texas Panhandle authors, Jodi Thomas, Phyliss Miranda, DeWanna Pace and myself titled "GIVE ME A TEXAN". This was acquired by Kensington Publishing and released in February 2008. "Roots that go deep...men who stand tall...and real women who have what it takes to love and be loved by them."
We have a second anthology called GIVE ME A COWBOY that comes out Feb. 2009. My story in that is "Texas Tempest." and I'm working on a new single title.

Hey Linda!!!! You know...it really isnt a great idea to have your book cover on my friends list!!LOL....I will be checking out my friends list WAY too much!!hehehe
I wanted to take a sec to let you know how much I enjoyed meeting you and your lovely family. You are one "special" lady. I hope see you again soon. Take care.
So I had this idea.....A lonely cowboy with a lame horse walks into a dusty west Texas town at midnight and stops at the first house he sees with a light on. He knocks on the door and after a bit, a beautiful young woman with a book in one hand and a pistol in the other opens the door and asks the chiseled stranger what he needs. Struck by her beauty the cowboy is dumbstruck and chokes on the trail dust accumulated on his vocal chords. "What is the matter with you Stranger?", she asks politely. Finally able to speak he blurts out, "I am new to these parts Madam and need a place to stable an injured horse, I recon I should have gone on into town."
"Nonsense!" the slender, young lady said with a little too much expectation in her voice. After all how many times had a man of this caliber been to her door in the past. "I have a place in my barn where you can stable your mount until morning. You can see Mr. Sikes down at the livery in the morning and he is as good as it gets at healing the bruised feet of hard road horses. And as for yourself, there are a number of good blankets in there as well. When you smell coffee in the morning knock on the door."
Stunned to hear such a beautiful voice speaking directly to him with solutions to all his problems at such an hour, when his expectations were to probably spend the night on the ground behind the saloon had given him a case of apoplexy that made it impossible to conjure up a proper response before the door slammed in his face. Seems like he had found accommodations for he and Frisco. What would all this lead to?
So anyway, Linda, these two get together and live happily ever after.
