Interests

  • General

Contemporary art and illustration are high on my list, and science of all kinds.
  • Music

Eclectic but I love almost anything classical, especially in acoustic guitar and harpsichord, also Flight of the Conchords and John Prine
  • Movies

The Jerk, Babette's Feast, any werewolf movie, Lord of the Rings, Independence Day (I have a compulsion to watch it every 4th of July), Star Wars, Star Trek, most Sci-Fi and especially the HBO Battlestar Galactica
  • Television

Battlestar Galactica, House, Nova, Masterpiece Theater, American Idol, ER,24, The Simpsons, Buffy and Angel on DVD. I despise game shows and most sitcoms; there'll never be another Seinfeld. (My Name is Earl was pretty good however, WHY did it get cancelled?)
  • Books

All strange topics the Harry Potter series, Tolkien, all Thomas Hardy's classics, Will Rogers' homespun essays, Sci-Fi collections, fantasy without precious elves, graphic novels and comics. Michael Chabon and Cornelia Funke, Elizabeth Bear, Greg Bear's short stories, Orson Scott Card, Terry Pratchett, C.J. Cherry, Susanna Clark.
  • Heroes

Charles Fort, C.S. Lewis, Joss Whedon (except for Dollhouse),everyone brave enough to report an anomalous creature sighting.

About me:

New Blog on my life's little oddities: http://wordpress.com/lindagodfrey Non-fiction and fantasy author, artist, and researcher of the strange, I specialize in anomalous creatures, particularly bipedal canids, which some like to call werewolves. Personally I think the term is a bit too sensational and dated. And no, I don't believe any of them are already on My Space; the ones I study possess no apparent humanity. My free time is usually spent reading, making art or walking, and I collect 50s/60s metal dollhouses, werewolf toys and statues, and all types of books. I am represented as a commercial artist by Tom Stocki of Elm Grove's Art Factory, http://www.artfactoryltd.com. My websites are http://wordpress.com/lindagodfrey http://www.beastofbrayroad.com and http://www.weirdmichigan.com. My books lean to the macabre; "The Poison Widow, A True Story of Sin, Strychnine and Murder," "The Beast of Bray Road, Tailing Wisconsin's Werewolf," "Hunting the American Werewolf," "Weird Michigan" and "Weird Wisconsin." "Strange Wisconsin, More Badger State Weirdness" won a bronze medal in the 2008 Independent Publishers Best Books Awards. New are "Werewolves," "Lake and Sea Monsters" "mythical Creatures" (Chelsea House) and "Strange Michigan," and also two unpublished YA fantasy novels. I am happily married to the guy who stood in front of me in the Milton 4-H choir when we were ten years old, and we have two grown sons. Once in a while we still recite the 4-H pledge just for kicks...I pledge my head to clearer thinking, my heart to greater loyalty, my hands to larger service, my health to better living, for my club, my community and my country...
