Linda Sonnvik has always been around music, entertaining and singing in different projects and taking part of the song writing. Part from the music she is educated in media and has previously done casting managing, TV-hosting and been a music editor.
When she entered a talent contest arranged by the record label Bonnier Amigo Music and Swedish popular community Lunarstorm.se she competed among thousands of songs. Three songs made the finals and Linda won first place with Whos Sorry Now?. The lyrics and music were written by herself. The record label immediately signed Linda for three singles and an album. The song Whos Sorry Now was produced by C&N Productions and Flatrate Productions, released on the popular hit album Lunarparty. A promotional video was made for the song. Linda also kept up her work as an artist manager and put energy in new music projects. After a while she let the record deal run into the sand and focused on finding a new sound whilst working with her management.
Today she writes songs for other popular artists as well as her ongoing music project. Being a practicing witch she knows not only the importance of balancing work with her soul, but that working creatively is an actual part of it. Linda has grown on different levels in the process. In 2006 Blueberry made a remake of Whos Sorry Now and it made its way into several charts and deejay-collections.
Linda is keen on learning more about producing as she admits to be pretty clueless about the technical part. She has co-produced a couple of tracks already, trying to describe her ideas to colleagues that get her vibe. (It might sound like this - Can we put in a kaboooom! right there and a whoo whoo-sound before we bring on the strings at the bridge? ...Followed by tired laughs from her co-workers) Though she loves spending time in the studio her best ideas comes comfortably lying in bed with loads of pillows and a notebook.
At the moment the wide vocal ranged songbirdie spends time in the music studio, recording new songs and having a blast.
- I feel so privileged, having all these talented people around me and being able to work with both my company SO! works as well as my singing and song writing. Over the years I have turned down several shortcuts to stardom, sometimes actually asking myself why. I'm enterprising and aim high but this time I simply wont compromise on either my personal priorities or on my creative goals. Now it's challenging, experimenting with grooves and my voice, finding my very own sound. I'm going with the flow and having fun on the path.
Wholly absorbed by music and more excited than ever Linda cooks up new brews...
