Sounds Like
A mixture of a rocky Natalie Imbrulia, with a dash of Gwen Stephani,a twist of Dixie Chicks and touch of Jewel....have a listen and see what you think.
The solo artist, singer/songwriter Lindsey Kate Dolbear was born in the coastal city of Plymouth in 1983. The signs were there early on that she would become a songwriter, as she began penning numbers at the age of 5! Of course her music has come a long way since then. She taught herself the guitar so that she could perform her songs, being influenced by artists such as Blondie, Janis Joplin, the Beatles, No Doubt, Alanis, Cat Stevens The Dreden Dolls, Amanda Palmer and many more. At the age of 18, Lindsey moved to Reading, where she gained a BA hons degree in film and drama, but music remained her passion and she gradually created her own mini music studio in her bedroom, something she felt was vital for a serious musician with very limited funds.
It's hard to pin the music down to one specific style, as as she believes that music is a way to vent your emotions, it is a cathartic experience and therefore cannot be placed into one single category. Her songs contain elements of rock, such as in the kinky 'Get it On' and 'Attention Seeker' and splashes of a latino influence in songs such as 'Wasting My time.' In addition Lindsey has become recognised for her raw stripped down acoustic ballads such as 'Right Direction' and 'Out of Sight', a firm favorite at gigs.
Lindsey has supported a number of well known bands, including Feeder, goldielookinchains and Joe Lean and the Jing Jang jong on their NME tour in Reading earlier this year. She is well known on the local Reading scene, gigging in venues such as The Purple Turtle, Walkabout, Bar Iguana, Deja Vu, The Granby, 21 South Street a, Bar 4, Global Cafe nd many many other places. She has gained recognition further afield securing gigs in London (some videos shown below) and has gained radio airplay.
Lindsey currently has a number of gigs lined up so please do come along and support this new music...these are songs that deserve to be heard.....so come

Hi Lindsey,
good to hear a positive comment for each song, thank you.
Haha you have a back-log of recording to do - your creative juices have been flowing and are awaiting the time to be set free to do their magic. It is a constant case of not giving up on our dreams, ... haha, those dreams won't let you ... they say to you, "you can't give up on us dreams ... we're the reason you are here!"
Best wishes with your gig in London, and I will look forward to eventually hearing some new songs from you ;)
Love Matthew
Hi Lindsey, how is it musically going?? and yourself, how are you?
Since you enjoyed some of my others, I think you will at least like one of my two new songs - Walking with my shadow, and then, Desert Diamond ... I don't know how that one will be recieved, but still I like it.
Any luck with your search for a manager?
Best wishes
Love Matthew

Hi Lindsey! Thanyou so very much for your support of the Smile Train; the event raised £550, and considering it was a smallish audience that's great! Hope you enjoyed the experience, and we wish you every success in the future with your music. Looking good as well ;) Thanks! Mike

I very much enjoyed hearing you last night at Woodcliffe Hall and today I am enjoying listening to your recording of "Get it On". Are the backing vocals all you, or did you get friends to sing with you on that track? I'm also intrigued by the noise that I hear as similar to a pair of scissors or perhaps a record moved back and forwards over a percussion sound.
Lindsey You were very much missed at Boho night last Thursday. You are a cherished and furmnunted performer and we hope to see your size two's adorn the stage again soon.
Wow, since you have been so incredibly supportive, it was only right of me to pay your space a visit and have another listen to your songs, and well ... they are much more professional- sounding ... and more of what I believe people would listen to. Just listening to yours, and reading your influences, you totally fit in with what sells. Plus now with my relatively new experience of putting songs together, I can appreciate what you have been doing in a similar vain in your bedroom. Let's continue doing what we love and enjoy doing best. I remember those early days, all the songs you made up with Hayley ... they were great! Thank you again for all your support, we could see the star in you from the time I filmed you miming to a be-witched song - blame it on the weather man! Best wishes from Matthew
Thank you Lindsey, I am very happy that you like my songs, maybe you will like the one I am adding today ... it is not so big on lyrics, and it sounded alright through my head-phones, but through the computer - I'm not so sure! Hayley told me you asked to know which equipment I used ... especially regarding the beat. My electric piano provide the beat, and I add in my own on the last track (from the drums on the piano ... you know, where every key becomes part of a brush set). As for gigging ... I would not know where to start, I have not thought about it ... eeep! Thank you for you support, hope you are well. Best wishes Love Matthew
