la canzone (il Re aspetta sulla cima fremente) che stai ascoltando fu inizialmente suonata da LMZ. Durante questo periodo ho suonato: il basso, sicuramente; la chitarra acustica, quindi; le tastiere; armonica a bocca; xilofono. Cantavo siccome ero uno dei compositori della band.
l’altro compositore di questo ensemble era Paolo Pezzi, il chitarrista.

trovai il nome mentre ero a Greenwich. Sapete che il meridiano di Greenwich deve essere considerato la linea longitudinale numero zero; è stato facile prendere quel nome: Linea Meridiano Zero.

nei primi tempi eravamo in tre; tre che avevano fatto parte di un’ altra band finché il pianista e cantante se ne andò. Decidemmo di cambiare nome e musica, dedicandoci quasi esclusivamente alle nostre composizioni.

le uniche canzoni di altri che eseguimmo furono: Echoes dei Pink Floyd, In Morte di S.F. di Guccini e Norvegian Wood dei Beatles.
per tre o quattro anni mi alternai al basso, alla chitarra e alle tastiere; cantando le mie canzoni.
il batterista fu sempre Pietro Savini; amava i Deep Purple e aveva un meraviglioso modo di suonare la batteria in un 12/8 veloce. Dopo un po’ di tempo Giovanni Balelli si unì a noi suonando le tastiere; era molto bravo come solista.

coi nostri strumenti cominciarono a suonare alcuni ragazzi che formarono una band chiamata Nova Solaris; quattro di loro suonarono con me in Vaudeville. Due di loro suonano ancora.
fra le canzoni di allora ricordo: sally, ancora non sanno, la fiaba, moto perpetuo, polvere di stelle, prega Praga e gocce, il cui testo fu scritto dal tastierista e la musica fu trovata assieme.

gocce doveva essere la chiusura giusta per questa band, poiché Paolo aveva trovato interessi che lo allontanavano dalla musica come la intendevamo all'epoca.
invece, per via di un incidente d’auto mortale che capitò a un membro della band, ci riunimmo per un ultimo concerto. Dove suonammo la nostra ultima traccia composta da Paolo: buon viaggio.


penso di essere l’unico che suoni ancora e questa cosa fu profetizzata dal chitarrista. Comunque, non penso che userò più il nome LMZ.

the song [the King is waiting on the top quivering] you are listening to was first performed by LMZ. during LMZ time I played a lot of things: the bass, surely; the acoustic guitar, next; the keyboards; mouth harp; xilophone. I sang because I was one of the composers of the band.
the other composer of this ensemble was Paolo Pezzi, the guitarist.

I found out the name of the band while I was in Greenwich. You know that the Greenwich meridian is to be considered the longitudinal line number zero. it had been easy taking that name: [Line Meridian Zero].
in the first times we were three; three who was in another band until the piano player and singer went away. We decided to change name and music, doing almost exclusively our own compositions.

with our instruments, some guys started to play music in a band they named Nova Solaris. Four of them played with me in Vaudeville. Two of them play now.
between the songs of that times I remember: sally, [still they don’t know], [the fairy tale], [never still], [star powder], [pray Prague] and [drops], whose lyrics was written by the kbd player and the music was found out together. It can be considered our last song.

[drops] should have been the right close for this band, because Paolo had found interests that took him away from music as we thought at that time.

after this end and because a deadly car crash happened to a member of the band, we joined together again for the last gig. There we performed our really last track: [bon voyage!].
I think to be the only one who plays again music and this thing was prophesyed by Paolo. Anyway, I don’t think I will use the LMZ name anymore.
