Almost Tomorrow is the third full length collaboration album from Section 27 Netlabel founders Tam Ferrans and Andrew Paterson, under their Nonima & theAudiologist guise. This time around the sound is more melodic, and has a definite feeling of a complete and more mature sound than heard on the previous LP's "Dystopian Battle Hymns" and "Ceremony After Amputation". If you are familiar with their individual projects you may even be in for a slight surprise, as the tracks are not as beat driven like before, but are more atmospheric and sound, well... "bigger". In its 75 minutes, Almost Tomorrow takes you on a trip from the digital rain-soaked cavernous scraping in "Thoughtograph", the ethereal beat jittering of "The Colour of Rain", intercepted transmissions from unknown places in "Com-Intercept", "Ganzfeld"s huge yet strangely insect-like beats until everything you knew comes crashing around you in "Almost Tomorrow". Burning pianos, glitched out soundscapes and intricately programmed beatplay, this may well be their best work to date. Consider it the soundtrack to a rainy overcastday, but with just that glimmer of sunshine peeking from the clouds. "Almost Tomorrow" wears its heart on its sleeve.
Is it Noise Concréte? Is it avant-garde? No, it’s the sound of the world according to Joris J.. It’s the ICU of sonic impulses, and in all it’s intenseness, deepness, intricacy, the man in the white coat playing the organ (which does not sound out of place in this swamp of soft distortion) still smiles at you. Because there is always joy in making experiences as listening to music like this,. It drills a hole in your skull, and you will shave your head afterwards to show it proudly to the world. Speaking of which: drills never sounded sexier as on this EP. Word.
The Leaders of a democratic government cannot wait until many people own a basic understanding of conviction and assertion, so the public relation industry perform the "Fabrikation von Konsens". This conception involves the whole politcal spectre. Through the mixture of media and content the communication of transceiver and receiver ends. A discus circulates, runs through a figure of circle in which the position of transceiver and receiver vague blend. In which way a last resort of power and transceiver don..t exist any more. Power gathers nowhere, assigns nowhere, just circulates. For the individual just the parts of generating conviction and assertion are perceptible: profit direction, advertisment, news sources, flak, ideology. Through that everybody becomes a structural conformist: Do what other do. Say what other say. Think what other think. Adapt on each situation, you..ll unburden of every decision. The parts of generating conviction and assertion ease you being a zombie, because they inform you about the When, Where and How. Reality becomes unattainable, transcendent.
