As far as gear goes, I'm running Digital Performer on a Mac G5, with a Focusrite Octopre for my mic pres, running to a MOTU 2408 as my interface. I'm not technically much of a gearhead though, since a lot of this stuff (like the MOTU 2408) I just bought because people at work told me that's what I'd need to get up and running.
