I started Lingua Fungi in 2001 as way to present more experimental material that started to emerge during other musical projects. Before the first official releases I made few unpublished demos.
First official album, "Flowery Dreams" was released on 23th of december 2006. by War Office Propaganda and can be ordered directly from them. First 222 copies also include an additional CDR-Ep: Spore prints.
Second official release, "Tlapallan Pantonal" was released by WOP in February 2007 and can be ordered directly from their mail-order. Other distributors should include: Cold Meat Industry, Athanor and Old Europa Cafe among others.
Third official release is a split album with bulgarian ambient artist Shrine. The split was by bulgarian record label Corvus Records. You can order the record from Corvus Records mail-order, or from distributors including Equilibrium Music, Steinklang Industries, Cold Spring Records and Firebox in Finland.
UPCOMING RELEASES:
LINGUA FUNGI: Melankhton (CD) by Horus Cyclic Daemon, autumn 2009.
Melankhton is a sonic interpretation of illness narratives and an anthropological study of the subject based on fieldwork material gathered especially for this project.
The intention of the album is to open the mind of a sufferer for a listener to hear and feel. The narratives and the sounds depicting them bring forth the strong dyadic division of suffering and the brief moments of relief.
her final breath.
From the label: Time has come for a fresh collaborative album, released by No Angels Prod. and Beast Of Prey. We would like to present a unique opus, which appears as a co-operation of Inner Vision Laboratory (Poland) and Roto Visage (USA) projects, symbolically entitled "Cinema Stain". Here, the listener is forced to wale in pathological and "impure" visualizations of human pain, fears and suffering, which are surprisingly seducing with subtle beauty. Some of the soundforms are painted heavily with a brush of rhythm while others flow like the spools of film spinning through a mechanical projector. The aim of both of the composers was to write an original soundtrack to a non-existent horror film – the result is excellent, and by taking vocal samples from other movies, they created also an auditory record of tension and melancholic darkness. For layout of this release, we used modified photographs from the very talented photographer - Karolina Kosowicz.
