Turned on WWOZ this morning as I got ready for a long gig day with the Hot Tamale Brass Band and Lisa Marie at Paulie's NOLA Jazz & Blues Fest in Worcester, MA. 'OZ was playing YOUR "Could This Be Love?"!!! Great way to git me jump started! Heard any musical sirens out there in the high desert lately? (Eric, the Mad Scientist! LOL)
Just wanted to stop by and thank you for becoming one of my friends. Over the past year my music has gone thru some very big changes. My newest CD will be finished very soon, in the mean time swing by my page and check out my song Ashes Forever. If you would like to help me spread the word, please copy the code from my profile for the banner listed below and paste it on your profile. Thanks again for your support.
Oh my goodness! That's retarded! I'm going out of town this weekend :(... Please let me know when your next sd show will be. One day the stars will align. You know I've been listening to you for about 5 years now right?!!
Greetings again, Linnzi. It was a magical, excellent show that I'll always cherish. A real blast from the past! Thank you sincerely for talking to me too! I wasn't going to say hi at first, only because usually my fellow musicians ignore my presence and disgorge their apathetic cold hearts. I've had one too many disappoints with local artists in the past. But thank god you're different! You're a genuine, real, down-to-earth, classy dame. And I want everyone here to know, if you haven't been to one of her shows, get off your rump and attend a.s.a.p. This is music we are deprived of these days, and this group will have you so relaxed and at peace you'll forget all your troubles and cares. I even dug the groovy banjo-playin' and the beautiful clarinet. One friendly suggestion ... I think your boys would look real sharp if they wore suits. But that's up to them.
Do you know those old classic joints (like in movies such as White Christmas) where Bing would sing? Well, do you know if any are still around. I'd love to see you sing at that kind of place, where the audience can actually sit quietly, attentive and totally assimilate your music. I had a bit of hard time hearing over the chatter. But that's how it is today I guess.
Other song suggestions I'm enamored with that you'd sound lovely doing: Gershwin's "But Not For Me," Peggy Lee's "Coffee & Cigarettes," "He's A Tramp," "Why Don't You Do Right?" and "Hey, Big Spendor" and Lee Wiley's "I Got A Right To Sing The Blues."
Thanks for remembering me Linnzi. Damn, I'm sorry that I missed your show BUT I did see that you are playing in Encinitas. My sister who used to live in New Orleans when I first saw you now lives in Escondido. I'm going to tell her about your show. Actually she was with me that night at the Spotted Cat(?). take care,
great show @ the redwood; you & your boys!!! I love your voice Linnzi & you are so beautiful, like a flower : ) looking forward to seeing you guys perform again, Billie herself would be proud. R@MON
Oh my goodness!! I bought one of your records a few years ago -- after I heard a little feature on you on NPR. I'll see what my husband and I have planned for tomorrow night and we will try to make it. What time do you go on? I've been a fan of your music for quite sometime, and it would be lovely to meet you in person! xo, dafni
