..Darrin..(aka Liquid Acrobat) has combined his considerable talents as a musician, audio engineer and computer programmer to achieve success in all three arenas. His love of music emerged growing up in New Jersey during the 70s & 80s, through playing guitar, scratch DJing and break dancing. Simultaneously, his fascination with programming computers began to take hold, and the combination of these two passions marked the beginning of an extensive career composing electronic music. Today, his style has developed into an intoxicating fusion of 60s Psychedelia, Dub, Trip Hop and Indian Ragas. .. Under the name, "..Liquid Acrobat..", Darrin has performed live throughout the United States and Europe. The intertwining of technology and art is also present in the organic t-shirt and accesories web site he owns and operates, ..MOP Media... He also manages a media production studio, ..Shakti Science.., a label with a diverse roster of eight artists. .. After graduating college, Darrin devoted his time to composing and performing his music in New York City, as well as honing his computer programming skills. In 1992, he moved to San Francisco and became heavily involved in the dance music scene. He co-created and performed with the ..S.P.A.Z. ..sound system, a collective of DJs and electronic musicians and recorded with the hip-hop artist, Jamalski. During this time, he was also doing multi-media design and web programming for various organizations, as well as serving as sound engineer for the ..Lorraine Hansberry Theatre.. and ..Grace Cathedral... .. During a brief stint in England, Darrin worked for the British audio software company, ..Making Waves... He designed all the samples and drum patterns for the Making Waves Audio product release, a professional, digital audio sequencer for which he also composed a companion dance music composition tutorial. While in Europe, he recorded a drum n bass remix and an electro track for the UK labels, ..Digidub.. and ..Sonic Tonic.., and experimental techno tracks for the Belgium based label, "Surreal Sound". .. Now back in the New York City area, Darrin has worked as a digital audio/video engineer for ..Sony BMG .. since 2000. His most recent accomplishments include the 2003 release of Liquid Acrobats album, ..Warm Atlantis.., and serving as the music designer for a 2002 documentary produced by the South Asia Against AIDS Foundation (SAAAIDS). He was also the encoding engineer for the Grammy Award winning album, Robin Williams Live 2002 (Columbia Records). .. Current projects include working with ..Lotus Productions.. to sell T-Shirts and other products for ..MOP Media.., morphing up video loops for live performance, and creating the psychedelic video DVD version of my Warm Atlantis album. .. ...... .. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..

  • Sounds Like

deep bass, cut up broken beats, dub stylee, trippy psychedelic vibes, lots of sound panning, scratching, warm, organic, world influenced. Basically the sound of a bunch of 60s hippies, chillin' with the Beastie Boys in Lee "Scratch" Perry's Black Ark studio.
