TOP PICK, 4-1/2 Stars! K.I.S.S. Hero Award "Hendrix created a fantastic concept when she brought the Immortal Brotherhood series to life. Part Ladyhawk, all enthralling, the second installment, based on the Robin Hood legend, has passion, adventure, history and characters you'll treasure. It's a winner!"
~ Kathe Robin RT BOOKreview
For centuries he’s hidden in the woods. Now a maid has come to lead him out...
It’s been four centuries since Steinarr the Proud was cursed by a wicked sorceress—along with the rest of his Viking crew—to live for eternity as half man, half beast. By day Steinarr is like any other man—by night he is a lion. He has taken refuge in the woods of Nottingham, England, and there he encounters two young travelers, Robin and Marian.
Painfully aware of the danger he presents when the moon rises, Steinarr refuses to help guide them on their search for a special amulet. But a kiss from Marian awakens his desire. How can he protect the maid he so desperately wants to ravish? With motives of his own, Steinarr finally joins their quest, while the sorceress Cwen gathers her dark magic to destroy them.
As a legend spreads of an outlaw in the woods, their band is joined by others. But it is Steinarr who has the most to gain and the most to lose—if he is ever to be free of the curse and free to love as a man…

He came to England in search of treasure.
Two hundred years later, he's finally found her...
Ivar Graycloak is a brave warrior, a man known for his strength and integrity. He is also a man with a terrible secret. Long ago he was part of a Viking crew cursed by an evil sorceress to live for eternity as were-creatures. An eagle by day and a man by night, Ivar has lived a solitary existence for over two centuries. Then the king orders him to marry.
Lady Alaida is everything a man could want in a bride-intelligent,
spirited, and beautiful–and their wedding night is a balm to Ivar’s
lonely spirit. Then a seer brings him word of a dark vision, one that
makes Ivar vow to stay away from his lovely wife forever. But now that Ivar has sampled Alaida’s passion, her humor and warmth, he is
enthralled. His traitorous body-his very heart-longs for that which he can never possess.
Lady Alaida may surprise him yet, though, for she has a power of her
own-a power that will either destroy everything they hold dear or
ultimately set them free…
WHAT REVIEWERS SAY...
"Bringing together Norse sagas, English history and medieval fairy tales, Lisa Hendrix brings her imagination to bear to create a story that will delight with its familiarity, but a familiarity in a completely new context, that of paranormal romance. Tinged with a delightful darker echo of Chaucer's Wife of Bath 's Tale (The Canterbury Tales), John Gower's The Tale of Florent (Confessio Amantis) and the Wedding of Sir Gawain and Dame Ragnell, Lisa Hendrix adds her own unique vision to this popular classic tale of magic. Lisa Hendrix's IMMORTAL WARRIOR is absolutely stunning, especially with all the exquisite medieval details she embeds within the story."
~ Merrimon Crawford, MEDIEVAL BOOK REVIEWS
“Blending paranormal with historical and a touch of the comedy that she is known for, Lisa Hendrix gives us the first in a stunning new series bound to rocket straight to the bestseller list. Her heroine was smart and sassy, her hero was strong and patient, the subplot was awesome and the twist at the end was completely unexpected. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one.”
~ MANIC READER
“Gripping … I expect both this book and its sequels to find their way on the must-buy lists of book lovers everywhere!”
~ WILD ON BOOKS
“…Immortal Warrior will sweep you off your feet…a fast paced paranormal delight that will have you adding Lisa Hendrix to your must buy list. Shifters, Witches, Norse gods and more make this series unforgettable.”

BIO
After half a lifetime flitting from job to job trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up, I finally realized I'd been reading all those romance novels for a reason. Several writers conferences later, I sold my first book and have been happily pursuing the perfect hero ever since. The perfect fictional hero, anyway—I found my perfect real life hero some twenty years ago and am still blissfully married to him.
I have written western historical romances and contemporary romantic comedy for Berkley, but I have now returned to my medieval romance roots with The Immortal Brotherhood series., a brand new paranormal series that will span nearly a thousand years. The first book, IMMORTAL WARRIOR, came out in Nov. 2008, and the second, IMMORTAL OUTLAW, will hit the shelves June 2, 2008.
As you read this, I am pounding away on book three, tentatively titled Immortal Champion. Be patient. I'm not the fastest writer, but each of my nine Viking warriors will have his story...
In the meantime, please visit my website, where you'll find info on the books, a more complete bio, fun extras, and a place to sign up for my mailing list:
Check out this video of an interactive runestone exhibit at the Randers Kulturhistoriske Museum in Denmark. Using high-tech projection techniques, the story told in the runes comes to life, then flows off the stone to lure the viewer into interacting with the runes themselves.
________
Who I'd like to meet:
Mikhail Baryshnikov, Steve Jobs, Cory Doctorow, Van Cliburn...
Oh, you mean here. My readers, of course, plus Viking/Medieval reenactors, other writers, and fun, creative and interesting people who will make me think.
Who do you want to meet? More romance writers, you say? Try:
Read "IMMORTAL WARRIOR" and the next one in the series, 'IMMORTAL
OUTLAW" written by LISA HENDRIX. Both excellent stories, and will get
a second read ... and perhaps a third. I have read many stories
that don't stick with me, but this one has left me with a clear picture
of the characters, the settings, the angst and the peril of the era. I
experienced being teleported into the story.
