It can be me, myself and I...one guitar and maybe an amp. A pick. Some baggage and maybe a sense of humor. Maybe a sidekick. Maybe I'll be the sidekick..Playing out with banjo-gal Rebekah Carpenter real soon.

I'm living in Ithaca, now...after many years in Virginia, near DC. Used to live in upstate NY when I was young--and it's nice to be back home. The Beltway mentality can kill a person, and the whole "I'm an important person on my cell in my Hummer" thing gets old real fast. Actually saw a freakin Hummer with a bumper sticker that said "THIRSTY." Some sick som bitches. Glad to be back. If this is "Unreality" then reality really bites. I'll take this ten square miles surrounded by reality. Still, this little city needs work, and has to get a grip on some things. Just lost Juna's this week, which is a travesty. Freakin Starbucks drove it out of business, and nobody seems too upset about it. The Commons is a lovely idea, but I'm afraid I missed seeing its heydey. It's suffering from ennui or the classic "Nobody Who Matters Gives a Shit" Syndrome. Somehow a parking garage and a movie theatre (and the rapacious Starbucks Corp) doesn't do it for me. Still, there's more hope here than there. Haven't met one Megachurchian freak trying to run poor Latinos out on a rail. Even the hicks here are kinder and gentler. Must be Buddhist energy...or maybe the Christians are a little more Christian in the north...

Hey Lisa - I don't have a car or a ride for your show tonight:( I would love to see you both play - if you know anyone heading from Ithaca maybe I could tag along? I know you girls are going to be awesome!!!!!
My friend, they won't even know what hit'em after we start. I'm so sure I even went and bought an "outfit". I've never bought an outfit for anything, but this occasion called right for it! I mean sure, from salvation army, but that's reduce reuse recycle fun, girl! I'm jazzed, bluesed, and countrified all once!
Yep ... us same sexers have to suffer along with the rest of ya all! At least in Calif. .... I do believe that Dolly Parton quoted the same thing you said a few years back! very funny :) lol Love ya!
Charlotte is growing taller and taller she is reading a bit now and adjusting to her new school slowly. We are doing ok just hanging in there working looking for work, teaching etc.
Thanks Lisa! The Jezzies are THE BEST BAND in the world to me :-)and I'm glad WAMA concurs. Your political musings are great. I will certainly subscribe to your blogs :-)
Life's pretty good, Lisa! The Wayward Drifters are getting busier and busier. We'll be hitting the road at least three times this year! Meanwhile, I need to find a place to live that's within striking distance of both Winchester, VA, and the D.C. Metro area.
Oh ... I had a bad cold after the Wammies (no worries, it didnt hurt my spirit!) but the worst part was that I dropped my amp on my foot Sat night! UUggghGHGhGHghHghh!!! Didnt break anything but oh lord it HURT! Im taking a natural product called Tremell. It does the same job Motin does but doesnt blow out the kidneys and G.I track! You know, all those side effects they dont warn you much about? Hope all is well. Hey can ya send me some CDs for the Animal Benefit? I can raffle a few off and/or sell a few fer ya! ~ Love ya Pauline
