It can be me, myself and I...one guitar and maybe an amp. A pick. Some baggage and maybe a sense of humor. Maybe a sidekick. Maybe I'll be the sidekick..Playing out with banjo-gal Rebekah Carpenter real soon.

A woman getting it together. Lyrics-driven music with folk influences. Evolving.
I'm living in Ithaca, now...after many years in Virginia, near DC. Used to live in upstate NY when I was young--and it's nice to be back home. The Beltway mentality can kill a person, and the whole "I'm an important person on my cell in my Hummer" thing gets old real fast. Actually saw a freakin Hummer with a bumper sticker that said "THIRSTY." Some sick som bitches. Glad to be back. If this is "Unreality" then reality really bites. I'll take this ten square miles surrounded by reality. Still, this little city needs work, and has to get a grip on some things. Just lost Juna's this week, which is a travesty. Freakin Starbucks drove it out of business, and nobody seems too upset about it. The Commons is a lovely idea, but I'm afraid I missed seeing its heydey. It's suffering from ennui or the classic "Nobody Who Matters Gives a Shit" Syndrome. Somehow a parking garage and a movie theatre (and the rapacious Starbucks Corp) doesn't do it for me. Still, there's more hope here than there. Haven't met one Megachurchian freak trying to run poor Latinos out on a rail. Even the hicks here are kinder and gentler. Must be Buddhist energy...or maybe the Christians are a little more Christian in the north...

Guess what? Another rave review for Sweet Bye & Bye! Some snippets: "This is a very classy album...The opener, 'Lucinda,' flat-out rocks...['Everywoman's Blues' has] a nice jazzy feel here, especially following Lisa Ann's torch song for 'Someone' who mattered a whole lot...The jazziness of 'Someone' and 'Everywoman's Blues' is bracing. Sweet Bye & Bye is beautifully produced and engineered with lovely sound to best showcase Lisa Ann's warmth."
I plugged you in my revised profile and am featuring you in my top 4. I love your songs and politix. Nice new album. Keep up the good work, Ms. Musical Wordsmith. Sincerely, Susan.
Hey Lisa - I don't have a car or a ride for your show tonight:( I would love to see you both play - if you know anyone heading from Ithaca maybe I could tag along? I know you girls are going to be awesome!!!!!
