It contains a duet with John Popper of Blues Traveler, along with contributions from friends such as Rob Hyman of The Hooters, David Bromberg, Bobby Bandiera, Glen Burtnik, John Eddie, Shawn Pelton, Bob Burger, Brendan Hill, Lorenza Ponce, Erin Hill, and many others. It's a powerhouse of acoustic driven singer/songwriter songs ranging from the playful duet with John Popper to an ode to her mother, who she lost at a young age to alcoholism. .... Lisa has sung backup for Jon Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Rob Thomas, and Cyndi Lauper, among others. She has opened for artists such as Bryan Adams, Blues Traveler, Kansas, Richard Marx, Ingrid Michaelson, Sophie B. Hawkins, Nancy Sinatra, Dar Williams, John Waite, and The Wailers, among others. She was interviewed on NPR Radio about her experiences “busking” in Philadelphia train stations, and appeared on the hit TV show “Gossip Girls.” .... Lisa first started singing at a young age, and sang non-stop... because although her parents loved her deeply, the only time they would stop their constant arguing was when little Lisa sang. Now, after losing her father to complications from a heart operation, and her mother to alcoholism, she still finds refuge in her music. .... And that music has kept her going, whether it be going on tour by driving herself thousands of miles around the country in her car, or flying to Japan to perform for Japanese fans. Her style has been compared to Sheryl Crow, Jewel, and Jason Mraz, but what sets her music apart is an edge reminiscent of classic artists such as Neil Young and Tom Petty. .... . Leaf Fall
I have seen the damage cold seasons leave...
I saw it all today…
The leaves turning brown
and some fell all the way
from the branch to which it was tied
Guess something must have died...
Seasons can change; the heart too…
Has this season left any cold with you?
Cold which we've never known before...cold kind a new?
People are also like trees...
they blow hot and cold with life’s breeze...
some even wither with the season and turn brown
some hold on to what they can
and some just throw it all on the ground...
every inch...every pound
Have you noticed how the leaves fall...
Some even when they fall...hardly fall or don't fall at all...
they float and float...
till they find a kind sail or boat
landing there...
for some love and care... some medicine and repair
We all need medicine and repair some days...
when all our branches have torn away...and we are all alone...on our own
Dear Life I know how the seasons come and go...
how they flow...
some warm...some cold...
Some leaving the heart young...and some leaving it feeling old...
I am like the leaf...floating in the air...
Wondering which sail is best for repair...
If any sail at all...is kind enough in a season of fall
Maybe when the seasons come...they come...because some of the leaves are meant to fall
