Lisa caught the performing bug at a very young age. She was singing at the age of seven, and later writing her own lyrics and poetry at the age of twelve. Somewhere in between, Lisa also picked up flute and percussion, as well as guitar. However, due to the fact that she was "insanely shy" she never truly believed that she would perform in public. Of course, as all great artists know, fate often steps in to offer a helping hand. In this case fate was a well intentioned friend who prompted Lisa to take the stage at a Karaoke bar. After one song she realized just how much she enjoyed performing, and started getting more serious about creating and performing her own music for an audience.
In the fall of 2004, Lisa began her recording career, and recorded her first EP, Bits and Pieces. This recording has beautifully blended the pop music that inspired her to sing, as well as the folk rock style that began to really shape Lisa’s songwriting. Creating songs about life and love, Lisa is now performing regularly and has been known to silence a crowd with her honest lyrics and angelic voice. Her songs range from meloncoly, to contemplative, and even sometimes amusing.
In the past eight years, Lisa has perfomed in a number of intimate venues in the Chicagoland area, such as coffeehouses and pubs. She notes her main influences as Jewel, Alanis Morrisette, Sarah McLaughlin as well as classic folk/rocker Bob Dylan. Always entertaining, Lisa catches her audiences attention with her powerful voice, emotional lyrics and her charisma on stage. As many singer/songwriters do, Lisa performs with heart, and keeps her audience intrigued and coming back for more. Lisa keeps performing at various venues and events, and has recently released a new Cd, "Beautiful Inside."
