I like a wide range of music...depending on my mood. Some of my favorite artists are Alicia Keys, John Legend, Jack Johnson, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, anything old school by Garth Brooks and any good workout music!
Movies
Dirty Dancing (classic!), Hoosiers, The Holiday
Television
I don't watch a lot of tv when I'm at home but I LOVE The Office, anything on the Food Network (I love to cook and bake!), SportsCenter, and, I'm currently Netflixing Mad Men Season 1.
Books
My new favorite author is Jane Porter from Bellevue, WA...onto her second book, Flirting With Forty! I also love Nicholas Sparks books.
Heroes
My dad…the most humble, hard working, and unselfish person in the world.
About me: Sports were my life growing up...and still are! I played varsity soccer and basketball all four years in high school back in Kansas City.
We won the 5A State Soccer Championships both my junior and senior years. I played center midfielder. I love running and am a very aggressive and physical competitor so that position fit me very well! As for basketball, my senior year we were leading by eight at half time of the State Championship game. It was one of those games that just felt like it was ours.
As team captain I felt it slip away and we ended up losing. It was one of the toughest losses I’ve had to deal with (believe me…there’s been many more!) but I learned and grew from that experience and I’m stronger for it now. Sports have been my life for as long as I can remember and my experiences have shaped who I am today…extremely competitive, passionate, driven, and resilient.
I went on to play basketball in college and currently play in soccer and basketball leagues in the Seattle area.

Well, how about that!!! Last night you main anchor commented after you said that the Mariners could make a run for it, he (not Dennis, but Chris? I forget) anyway, he said "If Lisa says so, it is true" or something like that... What did i say? Told ya, you are gaining that 'name we can trust' status in news!
Anyway, how about that Sounders FC vs. Chelsea match! Great to see the packed out stadium. I was there in sec. 126 in my rave green XBOX shirt. Seattle showed who is boss in soccer in this country! and Lisa Gangel is our hostess!!!
I bet the crowd yelling SSOOOUUUNNNDDDDEEERRRSSS!!! just blew ESPN's microphones into the red! It was organic, not some crowd people reading instructions off the scoreboard or anything. what I tell ya, it is the real deal here.
It is pathological. Eat breath, live soccer.
Looking forward to your Sounders FC show tonight. You are becoming a better and better sports anchor each day. So glad you are on our team.
been a while since checking in. I've been attending my Sounders matches that I can get into (got my Chelsea and Barcelona tix!!!). Ugh! You have probably discovered that soccer is pathological in the systems of some of us here in the Seattle area. I am one of those that was playing organized soccer well before you were even born! Happy Birthday!!!
Anyway, I post because you are doing a great job with Sounders FC coverage! Your interviews are great! Your style and on camera presence is solid.
And in broadcasting "if Lisa says so, it is true. A name you can trust". It is good for Seattle you are on our team.
Congrats on that big ring!!! That will keep you here on our airwaves... and happy.
Just enter "nathanchance" as your password to get an early jump on public ticket sales!! You've only got May 14th to get a head start before it opens up to everyone.
Yahoo!!!! You are the host of the Sounders FC Sunday recap.
Last night you did well. Your positive energy radiates well thru the airwaves (going digital?).
Well, you are wonderful to have covering Sounders FC since there is a huge audience (me included)that will only follow the team from a distance since the management is excluding that audience from the stadium.
The team is awesome. The management I question. Have some detail to pay attention to.
