we want your movies to come to minneapolis. underground, shorts, docs. I also make movies, and am into collaborating with queer bands. I am interested in helping to make a documentary about the history of queer/homo core music.
About me: i make movies, i have a compilation of shorts out on the CRUNKS NOT DEAD record label. you can buy it on line and make your life better. i have a dog named kingston whom i love dearly. i have been in a few minneapolis based bands, Punky Bruiser, Central Standard, Hey There Cowboy and currently The Vagilantes. i ran a 2:15 half mile in college. i for 8 years directed the FLAMING FILM FESTIVAL, which kicked ass and sucked the life outta me. i like chocolate. i mentor youth in media. i nanny. i drink coffee. i'm a passionate person and with that comes a certain level of what some might call 'drama,' but at least i'm not boring. i like vibration. i just finished a movie about Tori Fixx. i need a sturdy chair. i live in Minneapolis again after a 6 month seattle stint where northwest film forum is the awesomest.
i own two bikes. my favorite a black vintage schwinn. Mysilver one speed is being converted into a motorized bike that gets 100 miles to the half gallon. also, a van. she is one of the cargo style and. very. big. and. black... must. bike. more...
i have movies on this record label. i love it so much i tattoo'd it on me. http://www.crunksnotdead.com
Who I'd like to meet: funny people, queer radicals, bike riders, film and videomakers, musicians, people who don't take themselves too seriously. be serious. but don't over do it and blow a forehead vein. that's gross.
honesty a must. musicians that want to start a band with me. people that would like to take over organizing homocore minneapolis and the flaming film festival. since i will be living in seattle at the beginning of 2009.
I just wanted to stop by and wish you a happy Sunday! I hope that the weekend brought you fun adventures, relaxation, and contentment :)
I was going to go camping this weekend, but this is definitely NOT camping weather. So me and some friends went to check out Dueling Pianos. Those guys are amazing - they can play just about any song that's been on the radio between 1950 and 2005.
Anyways, I wanted to let you know about a show we have @ Station 4 on Friday, October 16th. We are debuting a series of one time only performance art pieces. This one is called "AN OBJECT TO CRAVE". Live music and visuals based on a short story about life, love, loss, fantasy, obsession and death.
Another group of mine, The Magnetrons, which plays an exciting and innovative Livetronica set (i.e. STS9, Disco Biscuits, The Histronic) will also be playing. The night will be full of creative, interesting, high-energy music, good drinks and good times.
Here's the info:

I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time a few days ago. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a video of a new tune called Run Bobby Run:
