Influences
Some of my first loves: Louis Jordan, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Louis Prima, Jackie Wilson, Brook Benton, Buddy Holly, T-Bone Walker, good ol' Hank Williams Senior, and the amazing Sam Cooke.
Besides the early soul, rhythm & blues and 50's rock 'n' roll, I confess to many other musical addictions from bluegrass and hillbilly music to punk, ska, and hip-hop... Johnny Mercer sits right next to The Cramps, Bob Marley, The Residents, Scruggs & Flatt, and The Beastie Boys... And I admit that I probably know way, waaaay too many drinking songs from all over the world. And unfortunately for those of you present at a sound check, every silly tune ever sung by Bugs Bunny... My hero.
Sounds Like
I sound 100% like myself... And sometimes like various cartoon characters or vaudeville heroes. In moments of extreme crisis (such as lack of caffeine) you may catch me spouting an eerily-good rendition of Al Jolson.
An emerging artist on the New England music scene, LISA MARIE has been captivating audiences all over the Northeast - earning a loyal following of fans from 21 to 71 years young! In the past eight years this Boston native has appeared with many of New England's premiere R&B/blues/soul bands, as well as live radio broadcasts, webcasts, and telethons.
A versatile singer and songwriter with an expansive repertoire and list of originals, she has a life-long love of traditional roots music that she enjoys covering: R&B, rock, funk, swing, blues, folk, gospel, country, rockabilly, pop, soul and jazz... She's also known for slipping into an Irish drinking song, a Dutch ballad, an American Revolutionary War tune, or a French folk song at the drop of a hat.
"With her range and powerful vocal delivery she can belt out a searing soul tune and then surprise you with sweet accapella. A true entertainer and performer, her presence on stage draws the audience right in. Cabasa or tambourine in hand, Lisa Marie bounces into the crowd, dancing with fans and emanating an infectious energy!"
Whether fronting her own 4-piece band, LISA MARIE & ALL SHOOK UP, crooning country jazz with her piano trio, working the singer-songwriter circuit with an acoustic guitar duo, performing with legendary 11-piece soul band Wilbur & The Dukes, belting Tower Of Power hits with the mighty Manchuka Horns, or as a featured artist with various bands, LISA MARIE serves up a red-hot performance every time... Catch the next LISA MARIE & ALL SHOOK UP show or see LISA MARIE at one of her many appearances in the Northeast!

I'm starting the legend of the Jack-o-lantern, riding the streets of Marblehead late at night, down dark, winding, narrow roads, endlessly circling past boathouses on rainy nights....laughing hysterically, yet screaming..."Get Me Out of Here!!!"
If you love the blues then check out my new project website (www.blues-scene.com). It's still under construction, but I would love any feedback you have. I will be featuring a local artist each week and will have photos, videos, recommendations, and articles covering the local NH Blues Scene.
