BIO: Lisa was born a three-and-a-half pound Capricorn with a set of lungs. She is a survivor of the University of North Texas where she played trombone in the lab bands, sang in the Jazz Singers, skipped out on music history classes, composed suitably atonal pieces for an assortment of instruments, and crashed the hard-drive on the Synclavier (many times). She graduated, and has since paid off all her student loans. ********************************************************************
Lisa performs locally with her jazz trio (standards etc, "sans banjo"), and tours as "Markley and Balmer" with Bruce Balmer sharing their originals. She also tours internationally in the geographically challenged trio The Malvinas. ******************************************************************
Her solo projects include Goddess of Groove, (an acoustic album of originals released in 2000), and her jazz releases; "The Sky is Blue and Sometimes Cries" and "One Word". (jazz-based originals, a sprinkling of standards, and other songs that should be standards). Featuring a host of friends from the University of North Texas, including the Grammy award-winning Jeffrey Barnes (of Brave Combo) on assorted woodwinds.

Bert Ligon! Never met the man, still, purchased those 3 sets and absolutely poured over each tome. So much of my musical identity comes from his ideas and compositional. Still need to revisit the etudes badly enough. So much time and effort is going into opening my recording studio right now.
I have a compendious 3 volume set by one of the professors out there who works with the one o' clock lab band and the singers produced out there are ALWAYS wonderful...Nice to hear you Lisa!!! I like your guitar!
