Bio
Sweet, soulful, passionate, and at times capable of pushing the listener to the brink of tears… These are a small sampling of the ways in which the music of Lisa McCallum has been described. Born in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, Lisa has grown into a breathtakingly talented Country songwriter and artist. Her rare blend of profound emotional introspection and genuine country charm have made her a promising performer worthy of the current industry buzz surrounding her. Lisa wrote her first song at the age of 14, performing the song at a church coffee house; the overwhelming response has kept her singing and writing ever since. While in high school, Lisa joined the Nashville Songwriter's Association and went on to graduate from Humber College with a diploma in Jazz Performance. While competing in Canadian Idol, Lisa finished in the Top 100 out of over 15,000 participants in 2004. She has honed her considerable talents in the intervening years by performing extensively throughout the Toronto and Nashville Country singer-songwriter scenes. Formerly signed as a staff writer to Murrah Music (founded by Roger Murrah - www.murrahmusic.com) in Nashville, TN, Lisa has had the opportunity to write with some of country music's top writers, including Steven Dale Jones ("One More Day" – Diamond Rio), Neal Coty ( "She Was" -Mark Chesnutt) Josh Kear ("Before He Cheats" – Carrie Underwood), Heather Little ("Gunpowder And Lead" – Miranda Lambert), as well as Michelle Wright, Gilles Goddard, and Bonnie Baker. Lisa has most recently written for the likes of Dianna Corcoran (Female Artist of the Year winner at the Country Music Awards of Australia), Canadian Artists' Donna Ferra and Brittany Broadie, and Katie Armiger, penning the single "Trail of Lies" which broke records for Katie's career by breaking the Top 20 on both Country radio as well as the GAC top 20 video countdown. Lisa also co-wrote, "Back In the Day" with Heartland, which will soon be released. Lisa was a part of, "6 Chix", a live concert featuring Nashville's up-and-coming singer/songwriters, where her song, "Girls Will Be Girls" was the show's theme song. As well, Lisa was asked to take part in the Second Annual Songwriter's Evening at Fallsivew Casino, sponsored by ASCAP, sharing the spotlight with Kelley Lovelace ("Don't Foget To Remember Me" - Carrie Underwood), J.D. Souther ("Heartace Tonight" - The Eagles), and Steve Diamond (" I Can Love You Like That" - John Michael Montgomery/All-4-One). With the undeniable talent, passion, and drive of this striking twenty-five year old, it is easy to see how Lisa McCallum is only just beginning what will undoubtedly be a long and illustrious career as one of Nashville's pre-eminent singer-songwriters. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. -

HiLovely Lisa,
Thanks for visiting our site and being our friend. We are a rock 'n' roll band out of Southern California in the vein of The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty. If you like The Rolling Stones, you will probably like us as we play that same blues based rock style that they do. Best wishes.

NEW MUSIC, HERE & NOW!!! Just wanted to let you know I've been hard at work in the studio for my long overdue sophomore album, and have just posted a new track for you to preview. The song is called "SLOW ME DOWN" and it's a demo that I did at home, co-written by the very talented Johnny Reid! I am so excited about the new album that I just couldn't wait to share SOMETHING with everybody, so I hope you enjoy this little "sneak peak"!! I look forward to hearing from you about the track, and encourage you to check out the new pictures I've put up. Hope you are having a great week! Cyndi
