Spread over two nights in Dublin's Twisted Pepper, with artists from Norway, Paris, Denmark, Dublin, Estonia and London, The Bottlenote Festival 2009 is a major event for improvised music in Ireland.
The festival showcases the work of Bottlenote musicians
and promotes collaborative practice between Irish jazz musicians and
their European counterparts, providing audiences with an exciting
snapshot of the best new improvised music both across Europe and here
in Ireland.
Elevens is Martin McCann and Tony Barrett. Formed in January 2009 from two of Dublin's finest independent rock bands Sack and Brilliant Trees, the collaboration came about when Martin invited Tony to accompany a backlog of lyrics sitting on the back burner only to find there was something a little more than a few demons to be exorcised. Some of the tracks are featured here and are mere sketches recorded very basically at Martin's home with an MBox and a Macbook Pro. The plan is to eventually record them professionally but in the meantime we hope you enjoy...Elevens.
