Lisa’s Diary was originally formed on the 24th of June 2008 after original members Haziq, Lily and Farra quit their old band. They were then joined by Naza (MarchOnFriday). The name of the band was actually chosen randomly by Haziq, Lily and Farra but somehow the name was connected to Haziq’s ex-girlfriend who’s name was also Lisa. There were no 2nd choices for other band names. Unfortunately, they soon realized that there were bands that had similar names like them. But that didn’t stop them from using the name.
The band’s early main genre is mainly alternative rock with some mainstream screamo. The band went on to perform their first gig just 5 days after the band was formed (Crowded Fest Part 1) and recorded their 1st CD “Demo 2008” 3 days later. They took the risk of recording with very little practice (only two times since the band formed). Lucky for them, the CD turned out to be not as bad as they thought it would be. With the 3-track CD finally complete, the band went on selling the CD’s while performing at numerous gig venues. Until now, the band has had its fair share of good & bad reviews but they are still going strong.
The start of 2009 sees a new beginning in Lisa's Diary when their line up has been changed and a cross-over from alternative/modern rock to screamo/post-hardcore style music. The band's current line-up consists of Naza on vocals/screams (formerly on drums and now taking vocal duties), Biey on melodic vocals, Haziq on guitars and keys/synths, Fahmy on guitars, Fitri on bass & Efan on drums.
Most of the band's music style & arrangements are influenced by bands like Escape The Fate, Finch, Story Of The Year, The Offspring, Avenged Sevenfold, Oh Chentaku, The Used, Blessthefall, Jolly Jumper, Senses Fail, The Blackout, Green Day, Rancid and many other outstanding bands from all around the world.
