Lisasmith is a singer/songwriter from New York.
Television:
If you watch Nickelodeon, you have probably heard at least one Lisasmith song. Her song For All I Am is the theme song to Moody's Point, from Nickelodeon's The Amanda Show. In addition to Moody's Point, Lisasmith's music can be heard on Zoey 101 (starring Jamie Lynn Spears) as well as Nickelodeon's lastest series, iCarly (starring Miranda Cosgrove). Zoey 101 features the tracks Mudskipper and You Don't Know Me. iCarly will feature the tracks Stupid Boy and By Name from her CD, Spirit of '76.
Film:
Lisasmith's music has been used in several independent movies, including the horror flick Naked Fear and the gangster film West New York, starring Frank Vincent (Goodfellas, Raging Bull), Gian DiDonna (Alive, The Funeral), Victor Colicchio (Goodfellas, Summer of Sam) and Vinny Pastore (The Sopranos, Carlito's Way). Her latest musical contribution is featured on the soundtrack of the independent film Mattie Fresno and the Holoflux Universe (Angela Pierce, Orson Bean, Carol Alt). Lisasmith collaborated with the film's director, Phil Gallo on the movie's theme song, Hello, It's Me.
Theater:
Selections from her CD, The Plight of a Rejected Girl are included in the score of the play, True Story, which has premiered in indie theaters in L.A. in the summer of 2004.
New Music:
Lisasmith is currently finishing her new CD, Acoustically Speaking. This disc will be a mix of spoken word and acousticlly oriented songs. It is due out in the spring of 2008.
Literature:
In November 2007, Lisasmith released a pocket book entitled: Lisasmith's Thought Experiments on Getting Even: theoretically tip the scales of justice in your favor. It is available for purchase. Her poem, short essay and picture flip book, In and Out of Darkness (a journey through mania) will be available via special order only in February 2008.
