"Known for her mature, resonating lyrics and powerful voice, classifying her music is often difficult to do. Although hints of Jewel, Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLaughlin and even Jann Arden are sprinkled throughout her album, Lisa Swain’s sound and style are unique and fresh, and all her own. Those fortunate enough to have seen her perform live are left wondering aloud how this beautiful and talented singer-songwriter is not yet famous".
Nominated for a JUNO award in 2005 and 2 Canadian Urban Music Awards under the alias ALUNA, Lisa Swain has been involved in the music scene for over a decade. A shy and reserved girl growing up in Stouffville Ontario, she turned to music as an outlet for self-expression. Although she has been writing songs since the age of 12, she didn’t pick up a guitar until her sixteenth birthday. Her musical influences range from country to punk.
Never afraid to explore new territory, in 2004 she teamed up with a electronic producer to form the duo ALUNA. Their first release, “All Of My Life” was an instant success, receiving nominations for both a JUNO and a Canadian Urban Music Award in 2005. Their second release, “All I Need Is Time” was also nominated for a CUMA.
Riding the momentum of this early success, Lisa returned to her pop/rock roots, and released the self-titled album “Lisa Swain” in late 2005. She's travelled all across Canada and recently to Nashville showcasing songs from the album as well as some newly written songs which she is currently recording.
Lisa was most recently at SXSW and returns to Nashville in April and in the fall. Keep an eye out this summer for Lisa's softmore release and check back for where she can be seen live.

Hi Lisa. Was so great meeting you the other night and hearing your wonderful voice in person. The last few days have been great for me. And now....off to Nashville!
Now I'm wondering... does "Jack" have a last name or does he just have one name like Madonna... or were you just leaving it out, out of politeness... hmmmmm!!? ;)
