I grew up in a little town north of Toronto called Stouffville. I've been drawn to writing and playing music since I was about 11. I wrote my first song in grade 7 and started singing (in public) when I learned guitar at age 16. Now, just a few (short) years later (ha!) I am pretty proud to say I've had some cool success. I've been nominated for a JUNO award, 2 Canadian Urban Music Awards, a Toronto Indie Award, had radio airplay across Canada and in Europe, songs I've co-written have reached as high as 4 on the charts, I've received 3 FACTOR grants, I've toured across Canada, released a full length self titled album, and met and befriended amazing people all along the way! :)
Recently I've been spending time in Nashville focusing on my writing career and had the awesome opportunity to write with some very successful writers - super cool!
Currently I'm working on some new songs for an upcoming songwriting duo EP and for a solo acoustic album. Stay tuned!
Some personal random deets....
I love to laugh! I laugh at most things, even normal stuff. I'm a happy-go-lucky kinda girl. I used to be crazy shy. It was crippling for my music stuff. It's been a slow process to get over that. I love little cute fluffy dogs! I have a bit of a potty mouth sometimes. I love to have fun. I'm a bit of a flirt (tee hee). I'm a huge family person. My sisters are my bff! We're pretty wild/wacky when we get together! I bite my nails and the skin - especially when I'm nervous. I'm not a girly girl - don't paint my nails, crave chocolate, wear skirts, wear perfume etc. I love chick flicks though? weird. Then again, I also love Family Guy. haha f'ing hilarious! One of my dreams is to be on SNL. I love interior decorating. My room is never clean. I could go on and on I guess... but I won't. Life is too short! - btw that's my motto.
