| General | What interests me?People...people interest me..it's amazing how truly and I think unconsciously deceptive most people are,with each other and with themselves.I observe people closely and I watch the way they hide themselves from others and I wonder if they are truly hiding from themselves...Have you ever noticed how the bold,outgoing people are usually the most insecure.Those who are callous and mean seem to be looking for acceptance and friendship and how the shy person who fades into the background has the strong character and deep thoughts?Why do we hide our true selves?These are walls of defense...what are we so afraid of?Maybe we fear failure...not fulfilling are desires...our doubts about ourselves..each other... People seem terrified of honesty.By honesty I mean we fear looking at ourselves and admitting our imperfections,our fears,our doubts about life..we fear change,and the fact that if we look at ourselves we may see people who are only living a tiny portion of our potential.I count myself among these people,one who has not found the ability to break free from these defenses,I am a work in progress.I don't know if it's just me but I feel like I am constantly a step away from the person I could be..the person I was born to be.The most interesting thing to me is people in all their chaos,complexity and imperfection. | | Movies | Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,Lost in Translation,My Girl,Pride and Prejudice,Sense and Sensibilty,How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days,Spanglish,Finding Neverland,The Sound of Music,Ever After,The Labrynth,Sixteen Candles,The Breakfast Club,Milo and Otis,Arsenic and Old Lace,Harvey,and many more but I enjoy watching all types of movies (even really stupid ones) as long as I have lighthearted people that can handle my sense humor to watch them with.. | | Books | Poetry, poetry, poetry.. oh yeah and everything else too.. | | Heroes | Heroes to me are the average people who we meet everyday...the people who withstand poverty,abuse,neglect,hatred,discrimination,and every other miserable life situation...heroes are the people who can go through all that and prevail..people who can still find the silver lining and who can still look at life through hope filled eyes...heroes?heroes are people who determine through every circumstance that they will live their dreams..that they will fulfill their purpose with no regret..heroes are the people that make change happen..that take the everyday and make it extroadinary...those people..they are my heroes |
