Frank Zappa in his 1980 interview with Songwriter magazine said of Little Annie:
˜But when I go to a place like Max's Kansas City in New York and see a group like Annie and the Asexuals, I can really enjoy it. I don't know if that band will ever get a record contract and I don't think they care. I watched them for an hour , painful as it was - their show was real personal and dis organized. This girl was wearing winter underwear with a black leather coat on top of that, and she had a paper bag with a bottle of vodka in it, and she was backed up by five guys who had just bought their instruments, apparently. She was screaming about thorazine and being in a mental hospital and it was real ! You don't get that commitment to just spewing your guts out among L.A. groups."
If you get the voice you deserve then smokey contralto Little Annie-aka Annie Anxiety-aka Annie Bandez has earned every blue hued note. Singer, composer, adventuress, chanteuse/lyricist, Reverend, rancatoure, actress, self taught painter, multi-media artist and post modern cabaret queen, Annie armed with a survivors wonder lust that has
followed a jagged torch lit path that has led her to a long, illustrious and eclectic recording career that has defied catagorization, limitation. Her solo LPs and numerous collaborations ( with Wolfgang Press, Crass, the ON-U Sounds stable, Paul Oakenfold, Kid Congo Powers, Current 93, Nurse with Wound, the late Bim Sherman, Coil, Fini Tribe, and Collapsed Lung, Mike Grimes, Larry Tee, Christophe Heeman, Julia Frodahl and Edison Woods, Baby Dee, Eric Hoffmann, Bianca Bob, Christine Donnelly, the late Bill Rice, playwrites Jim Nue and Charles Allcroft, actor/writter/director Keith McDermott, LARSEN and many fine others) span the spectrum from reggae & hip hop to torch and the avant garde.
She has written 3 volumes of prose, appeared in numerous plays, theater pieces, and films, and continues to tour extensively with pianist and co-composer Paul Wallfisch Of BOTANICA. She is currently residing in her beloved muse and hometown of New York, after a thirteen year residency in England, where she is adding to her extensive body of work. In 2006 she released ˜Songs from The Coalmine Canary' produced by Antony (of Antony and The Johnsons) and Joe Buedenholzer (Backworld) on Durtro/Jnana Records which includes her song 'Strange Love' which feature by LEVIS in their new 'Dangerous Liasons' campaign and which won the bronze award at Cannes in 2007 for best use of music in a commercial.
Paul Wallfisch and Annie's new cd of interpretations/re-works versions of classic and not so classic songs titled 'When Good Things Happen To Bad Pianos' is out now. After 5 European tours in the last 18 months, they are taking a break to record their new album of original material GENDERFULL to be released fall 2009.

Your comment in regards to Michael is right on point. The media pigs, paparazzi nazis and circling vultures contributed to his early demise. My daughter and I met him New Year's Day 1992 in Disneyland. He treated her like royalty.
I was so grateful, I was in tears. The greatest talent in the past 100 years. I hope all is well with you hon'. Take care . Hope to see you soon.
Hi Little Annie, thanks for accepting my friend request. I appreciate the opportunity to introduce You to the music of ALIEN SKIN.

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
