The Blue Notes were the first Rock and Roll band in Tacoma Wa. They formed in 1957. Original members Bill Engelhart, Frank Dutra, Buck Ormsbey and Lassie Aanes would meet after school in Bill's dads garage to practice. Before long they were drawing crowds on the street outside. To date The Blue Notes (from that era) are the only NW band with an original member still performing on a consistent basis today. They do around 100 shows a year
Since 1988 the Blue Notes have released 8 CDs and Bill has won all the awards from the Washington Blues Society except for female vocalist......stay tuned.
