(SurfaceUnsigned review @ the Barfly) The sixth band of the evening was Walsall based five-piece Renegade Messiah. Their sound is dark, progressive Rock-Metal – it's a broodingly atmospheric noise cut-through with hard, heavy riffs and fast winding solos for a unique and compelling direction that really works for the band. They've got a strong selection of guitar driven Rock tracks and at the Barfly they delivered a tight set that went down very well with the crowd. Live they are solid, playing with precision but never quite with the movement their music deserves, it was nevertheless an impressive effort from a talented band.
