ANNOUNCING:

There is nothing much else to say except, simply and honestly: thankyou.
Thankyou to 2High Festival for making us part of your deliciously beasty extravaganza; to Rowena, Daniele, and Travis for all your genuine support and enthusiasm for our little show; and to you, who came and watched and touched and overwhelmed us with your willingness to share in the experience of Six Women Standing In Front Of A White Wall.
Little Dove first gave birth to this show exactly 3 years ago in Brisbane, and so it seemed fitting to now be bringing it back home again before the women and their wall have a little rest for a while.
Little Dove Theatre Art is now gearing up to launch into some very exciting projects in development for next year, and can't wait to be able to share these new experiences with audiences.
Little Dove Theatre Art is a physical theatre and events company created by Artistic Director, Chenoeh Miller. Little Dove Theatre Art aims to create engaging theatre experiences that inspire and transform our audiences through an ongoing exploration of the physical manifestations of different kinds of love. Little Dove firmly believes that live theatre has the ability to truly touch an audience and to encourage social change. Yes, it is a grand idea. And yes, isn't it a grand idea!
Little Dove Theatre Art is also committed to facilitating opportunities for local emerging artists to engage with their discipline, and is a proud partner of designer Danielle Killick and her label Yellow Mule.
LDTA debut show Six Women Standing In Front Of A White Wall is a Butoh-inspired interactive live art work that explores the possibility that it is not necessarily a kind of love that we crave but a physiological need for human touch in order to survive. An infant will die if not touched in the first 2 years of their life. But what about adults? What about those times in life when you are alone for days, months, or even years without touch? And suddenly someone brushes past you in the street or a friend gives you a hug? What then is the effect on your body and state of mind? This is what these six women explore.
Six Women Standing in Front of a White Wall has previously been shown at The Roundhouse Theatre (Brisbane, 2006), National Multicultural Festival (Canberra, 2007), and Valley Studios (Brisbane, 2008). The production also toured to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2007, and during its sell-out season received widespread critical acclaim and numerous major awards, including Bank of Scotland Herald Angel Award,Scotland on Sunday Best Director Award and Total Theatre Award Nominee (Experimental Theatre). Little Dove most recently presented a full-length season of Six Women at Melbourne Fringe 2009 where the company was honoured to receive the Gasworks Professional Development Award, as well as Best Dance!
You were all so beautiful and amazing last time I saw you in 2007; the Fringe show changed my life for the better and I can never thank you enough for that! I'll never forget you.
