"DJ Monkey …soul-stirring, excitingly edgy music…just disturbing (read ‘mind-f**king’) enough to demand attention. There is a whole spice rack of auditory flavors here, served up like fractured poetry on a collection of intensely listenable Hallmark cards from Hell." Bill Margold, Cinema Seen, L.A. X..Press
Welcome to the planet of the Scrapes. Everything that you know has crumbled and your monuments have returned to the Earth. The Metropolis is no more. The pavement is cracked with tree roots pulsing like veins through hills that never end. This is the future you never predicted even when its icy grip tugged at your wrist. There is a real beauty to it though...the victory of nature over corruption...the sound of trees rustling against rusted industry...the cry of birds above the din of ceaseless traffic...a post-industrial caterwaul from the darkest corners of your memory. Our place is dark, but there are cracks of light through the canopy and a different kind of life thrives here. The air is warm but the wind is cold and the horizon never ends. A landscape both familiar and forgotten...ancient yet regenerative. There are no masters here so close your eyes and forget everything you remember.

Hi There. Just stopping by to let you know that we're having a very early X-MAS/ukkah pary at the Rickshaw Stop with Port O'Brien and the Cave Singers tomorrow night Dec. 6th. We go on first! Hope to see you there!
I'm a Little Polar Bear (sung to the tune of I'm a Little Teapot)
I'm a little polar bear, soft and white I catch a tasty fish, and take a big bite When the day is over, I know what's right I lay down my sleepy head and say good night.
White bear wanders polar cap with no rhyme to his heading, looking for a place to nap, a place with good soft bedding. He finds a spot along his hike, a bed that will suffice, a comfy place a bear would like, a nice, white sheet of ice.
(how's the swelling my love? ice pack on cheek check).
there's a new batch of originals now available on www.derekhess.com
