Sounds Like
Lovely relaxing harp music, songs on guitar often likened to early Bowie or Donovan...other comic socially critical songs often likened to Monty Python or Ray Davies of the Kinks My comedy is more storytelling than stand up as is in the tradition of Dave Allen!! This review was written at one of London’s most prestigious folk, poetry and music clubs, namely, The Troubadour. It is is very fitting that a venue with such a name should have hosted him as he is, indeed, a well-traveled bard, harpist, scholar, poet, songwriter and linguist with 5 languages under his belt and two more on the way.

He was born in Plymouth on 30th April 1968, Bealtaine’s Eve, year of the monkey, the figure 8 round the moon and the month of revolutionary student activity in France. His father was born on Plymouth’s Bretonside and, fittingly again, it was the music of the legendary Breton, Alan Stivell, that inspired Ken to take up Celtic Harp. Ken has is now honoured to be a regular guest of the storytellers at the famous Interceltic Festival in Lorient, Brittany.
He has produced two lovely CD’s of harp music:
“Home is where the Harp Is” 2001- produced by colleagues of George Harrison.
“Celtic Harp Favourites” 2007 - Folk-tunes in his own inimitable flourishing style.

He is no stranger to the professional comedy scene and although music remains his first passion he has been known to have a laugh or two up his sleeve. For many years he honed his talents and accrued his tales and jokes as rock musician, busker and entertainer in pubs and clubs in London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Vienna, Spain and Ireland. These days he prefers to perform harp music, his stories and his own songs in nearly every musical style but he may surprise you with a few old faves from his extensive and eclectic repertoire of covers and evergreens.
A troubadour indeed!
