   About Little Fish
.. ....There are only two of us on stage and sometimes we get paranoid. But then, we remember punk and rock 'n roll and nothing matters. I'm a girl who plays silver strings, writes songs and sings. He's a boy who hits the pans with serious rhythm and sound. I suppose its raw and quite on the edge of reason. Our stage performances are intense and exposed. When the lights go out, time takes us away and music takes over.............. Scroll Down For More MySpace Editor

The Biog That Explains More:

Little Fish, a rock duo from Oxford, is the work of singer songwriter Juju (electric/acoustic guitar/vocals) and Nez (percussion). The sound of Little Fish is stripped back, direct and defiantly punky in spirit, but also melodic and true to the song.

The song lyrics are often poetic, reflective and brutally honest. With shades of PJ Harvey, Juju's vocals can range from aggressive and powerful, to a bluesy Janis Joplin. On other tracks Juju's voice haunts and mesmerises, but with the conviction of the spirit of Patti Smith. Nez's drums power the songs with upbeat, imaginative and vicious rhythms that combine with Juju's cutting guitar strokes and arresting vocals.

Unlike many musicians, Juju spent all her childhood without listening to, or playing music. Throughout her youth and teenage years she dedicated herself to sport. As an athlete, she competed in many sporting events around the world, playing basketball at National League Level (Oxford Devils) and sporting a stint in the England U16s. She also trained with the Oxford United Football team, came first in many National and County Judo Competitions, competed in a number of County Cross Country Competitions and Bi-athlons (running and swimming).

It was only in her final years at school that she started to discover and explore music and writing. "I used to find the intensity of music was something deeper than I could handle. But there was a part of me that was very attracted to that intensity and I realised that I could express myself with it. So one day, I borrowed an old guitar, got a chord book and wrote a song".

Song had up until then been sleeping in her veins as both her French mother and grandfather were accomplished writers. But from then on, she endlessly wrote songs and busked them around Europe.

As a performer, Juju has had to overcome many hurdles for her music; the most threatening being a throat condition that left her without a voice for two years as well as six months with a chopped finger after cutting it on a luthier apprenticeship.

She met her talented drummer Nez when he approached Juju in a local Oxford chip shop when he overheard her slagging off drum solos to a friend. Nez has played drums since the age of 5. He developed his unique style with different bands playing everything from Big Band jazz to rock. He has stayed committed to the music ever since. The band are now regularly gigging around London and Oxford, are receiving both local and national airplay, and are building a devoted following.

The name Little Fish is the result of Juju's daydream "Feel free, I wake up in a head spin. I am me. I am just a Little Fish. I see what I see..."

"Everybody's new favourite band Little Fish" Oxford Mail - Jan 18th 2008

"My new Patti Smith. Juju has an amazing voice" Gaz Coombes Supergrass Dec 2007.

"Track Devil's Eyes fresh meat most original. Love it!" Zane Lowe Radio 1.

"Twice as good as the best unsigned act you've ever heard... and then some." Tim Bearder BBC Radio Oxford, 2008.

"When it comes to hearing good new bands for the first time, there's sit-up-and-take-notice music and there's jump-up-and-accidentally-bang-your-head-on-the-ceiling music. Little Fish are the first, immediately transposed by the second." Dave, BBC Radio Oxford, 2008.

"Little Fish are destined to rule the airwaves." BBC Radio Oxford, The Download. 2008

"It took Juju 6.9 seconds, wearing a wife-beater suggestively perked in two places, her brilliant vocals, wicked guitar playing and hard accompanying drums to turn us all into a Sex Pistol. Little Fish is music's missionary position and why they're NOT on NME's list of New Bands to watch in 2008 is beyond me. I would definitely make space for Little Fish."

Hugh Tomasz, Tavern Times. 2008
