In Kenya, Tribhuvanatha inspired Krishna-mayi Devi Dasi, an Indian devotee who lives in Kisumu and who regularly helped out at local orphanages, to open her own school. In 2001 Krishna-mayi opened an orphanage called Little Gokula Education Centre, dedicated to Tribhuvanatha Prabhu as the patron saint. He remains the main inspiration behind it. The school educates and cares for 180 African children, mainly orphans and street kids. Some of these children met Tribhuvanatha, and all love him, as he loved everyone. (Note: This is a Humble Effort by Devotional Servants from Kenya, Africa. We have no official endorsements yet we have Love, Hope and Insipration. We seek the Blessings of All Good People of the World.)

The African festival team, which tours East Africa on an annual basis, had a most successful tour this year. Girihari das, the team leader, explained:“ Including the talents of ISKCON’s ‘Little Gokul Educational Centre’ in Kisumu... and some of the young devotee performers accompanied our team for all of the twenty nine festivals. Over six weeks, from January to March, we covered 7,000 km and held events at ten schools, two universities, six public grounds, three villages, two public halls and six temples. Numerous house programs and harinams were also organised. We distributed prasad (Free Sacred Food) to 11,000 people - and several thousand books. The countries we toured included Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda.“One of the highlights of the tour was the festival at the Buganda traditional African temple near Kampala. A spiritual master called Jaja John leads this large spiritual community, which includes some of the country’s high-level professionals. Already vegetarians, the Bugandans believe in God, the soul and also reincarnation. Many of the group try to incorporate chanting Hare Krishna and other Vaishnava principles in their lives and sing their traditional tribal songs whilst incorporating the Maha-Mantra.Bhakta Adventures.
