Beatles, Nirvana, Bob Dylan, Cake, many others, those that write great songs, those that make the rock.
Little John is a power pop band who got their start in Boston in the mid 90's. After immersing themselves in the club scene for a couple years and releasing a variety of demos and 7" singles, twelve songs crafted in their Allston garage were turned into a rocking power pop album produced by Mike Denneen. The album, called Derailer, was soon picked up by EMI records, who put them on the road and produced a video for the song Shoelace, directed by Jaume Collet Serra.
After EMI's demise in 1997, Little John released We'll Always Have Ohio on their label Crane Mountain Records to critical acclaim. This sophomore effort was a body of work that sprouted from their adventures on and off the road for the previous two years.
After Seth moved to California he reformed the band twice, once in San Francisco, and again in Los Angeles. The San Francisco band released a new rough, raw, and rocking album in 2000 called Too Much Fun which stemmed from their love of fun and lust for life. There are two more albums mostly ready to go, simply awaiting Seth's inspiration to reach completion.
They have not played live since 2004 (as Toves at the Viper Room in Hollywood), but songs from all three Little John albums have been placed in films and television shows over the years.
