About me:

Little Mews is a cat rescue and referral located in Chenango County NY. We take in cats and kittens from a variety of situations, most are stray, unwanted, neglected or abused. We also can refer you to other organizations in the area that have dogs, cats and other animals for adoption, and have information about low cost spay and neuter options.
All our cats and kittens who are ready for adoption have been checked by a vet, vaccinated for FVRCCP, rabies (if over 4 months), tested for Feline Leukemia, wormed, and spayed/neutered if old enough. They're cared for in family homes with lots of love and attention, and socialized with other cats and dogs. Health conditions are treated so that the cats can be adopted as healthy as possible. Our mission is to find safe, healthy, forever homes for cats and to promote spay/neuter so that the number of unwanted cats is lowered every year.
Adoption fees are only used to help cover the cost of veterinary care and may vary depending on the age and special needs of the cat/kitten. We do not sell cats, there's no profit made from adoption fees. There is spay/neuter assistance available for low income families if needed, through the state or local organizations.
On occasion we'll list cats (or even a dog or two) as a courtesy to others who need to find new homes for their pets, and can help arrange adoption for you.
Foster homes are always needed to help care for the cats and kittens until they can find homes.
This is a non-profit rescue, not 501(c)3 yet but working on it, it's a long process.

Hello, thank you for sending us a request. We greatly appreciate your support for animal rights. This profile has been setup to help educate people on what animal cruelty is and what counts as animal cruelty. Sadly, many people do not truly understand the facts about animal cruelty and are unable to recognize when an animal is being abused and therefore, the crime goes unreported. We are hoping to change that. We post bulletins with information about animal cruelty and ways people can help prevent it. Some of the information we show does contain graphic material and we do apologize for that at this moment. It is not our intention to offend or frighten anyone, only to show why animal cruelty must be stopped before it is too late and another innocent life is lost. If you decide to repost our bulletins, please leave our page’s URL link at the bottom of the bulletin so that others will be able to find us and if they have any questions regarding animal cruelty or animal rights, they will be able to contact us. This is our only request that we ask of you if you do repost our bulletins. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us. Thank you again for supporting animal rights.
