About me: I'm a simple old fashioned woman living a simple old fashioned life. I'm pretty zen and I like to take life one day at a time. I'm a strong young woman with the love and faith of God in her heart. Energetic, funny and charismatic is how I'd like to be thought of! I'm looking for true honest, genuine friends that want to enjoy living life to the fullest. People who are carefree and love to have fun but can also be serious at the same time, in other words. I also want to find friends who have a strong spiritual connection to God and who can help me have that same connection.
I enjoy vintage lifestyles, 1930's clothes are my favorite. I'm a beginner in sewing, I sew my own clothes and I'm not afraid to wear them, even if they have flaws..
My favorite bandleader is Glenn Miller. Always will be, I own over 200 of his recordings and of course plan on getting more, I also have radio broadcasts of his which by the way are incredible! I also love Benny Goodman, Harry James, Kay Kyser, Fletcher Henderson and many other 1920's-1940's bands. My favorite actress from the era is Ginger Rogers, hands down, she reminds me alot of myself, and her dance partner is quite a looker too! I also love Eleanor Powell, amazing tap dancer! I love Jimmy Stewart, he's so sexy and so touching, such a great guy. I'm also a singer and beginning level tap dancer and also learning to swing dance in many forms. If you want to know more about me, feel free to ask!
My inner personality in a nutshell ;)
Men... they never pay attention.. hmmpf!
Yes, I own this sheet music!!!! LOVE the cover art!
This one is to all the drivers out there who can't drive, HAHA!
Who I'd like to meet: People like myself, those who enjoy vintage lifestyles as well as those who are just easy going and don't mind hanging out at Disneyland with me ;) hahaha People who are over the age of 70 would be nice to hang out with too! Most of my friends are over the age of 55. I love hearing stories and I love to learn things.. ahh to live back in the past would be grand, but then of course, I wouldn't know the people I know today..
Too bad you couldn't make it to Steve and Linda's, they had quite the selection of ladies' attire! I didn't come across much for myself in the way of clothing, but did pick up a couple of old magazines. Thought you might find this one interesting...
Hey, did you go to Disneyland on Saturday? I thought I saw you, and I was going to say hello, but then I didn't see you, if it was you. :-) Where've you been dancing lately?
THE ACTION PACKED EXOTIC ADVENTURES OF MATTHEW THE FEARLESS
Episode Two
In the previous episode Matthew the Fearless was all dressed up with nowhere to go. After seeking advice from several friends it became clear to Matthew what he must do, but he kept his plan secret lest any spies thwart his quest. After making an inventory of his gear to make sure he had everything he needed to meet the challenges and obstacles that lay ahead, he embarked on his quest.
As he hacked his way through dense foliage with his machete knife, Matthew heard a noise that sounded like a wounded kitty cat. Indeed, when he followed the noise he found a cute, little, white kitty who lay trapped and helpless in an old-fashioned mouse trap. “Hello Kitty,” said Matthew. “You’re a very small kitty to get caught in a mouse trap,” he added. “Well you’re not so big yourself,” replied the kitty. “I’m almost a foot tall,” replied Matthew with a kind smile as he helped the kitty escape from the trap. Upon inquiry the kitty said she didn’t know what her name was. “Well, I shall call you ‘Hello Kitty’ because those were the first words I said when I found you,” replied Matthew. He and Hello Kitty then had a splendid picnic in the lush green grass.
But while they were sipping nectar from tulip cups a noise startled them. Jumping up and looking through his binoculars Matthew saw an evil raccoon in the distance aiming a gun at them. “Run, Hello Kitty, Run! Run!” yelled Matthew as he prepared to do battle with the foul and dastardly beast.
[Will Hello Kitty and Matthew escape from this perilous predicament? To be continued...]
So I thought I’d ask for your advice. Here are my options:
(A) Discover the Fountain of Youth (B) Sail the Seven Seas (C) Venture to King Solomon's Mines (D) Climb Mount Everest and snow board all the way down (E) Discover a Time Portal and travel back in time and go the Junior Prom with Ginger Rogers with a trip to the Soda Fountain thereafter for a Root Beer Float and a kiss on the forehead (F) Find out if the Hollow Earth theory is correct (G) Re-discover the lost art of Alchemy (H)Travel to the Magnetic North Pole and discover if Santa Claus really exists (I) Go on an African safari and climb the heights of Kilimanjaro and sing Toto’s song “Africa” at the top of my voice. (J) Just stay home and watch “Top Hat” with a bowl of popcorn, Milk Duds, and a Root Beer Float
or…
(K) Go for a joy ride with Barbie and trust that she’ll behave herself this time.
Decisions, decisions…I wish I could decide what to do.
Ok, you can get back to whatever important thing you were doing. Just remember that its very important to stay hydrated. Nutritionists recommend you drink 8 cups (2.5 liters) of water per day. I share this information with you because you’re my friend and I want you to stay healthy 8^D
I just have a lot to do right now...but I'm ok...call me tomorrow night if you like....or later tonight...right now I have to take a bubble bath I have been cleaning my Dads apt and his storage unit....
No I'm not going. I wasnt invited. Yeah I dont have time to sew yet, but I want to make the most of my fabric......so lets keep the singing thing on the back burner for a while...I am not even sure when I can take a breather....
"She walks in beauty" George Gordon Byron, Lord Byron 1788–1824
She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that's best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes: Thus mellow'd to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less, Had half impair'd the nameless grace Which waves in every raven tress, Or softly lightens o'er her face; Where thoughts serenely sweet express How pure, how dear their dwelling place.
And on that cheek, and o'er that brow, So soft, so calm, yet eloquent, The smiles that win, the tints that glow, But tell of days in goodness spent, A mind at peace with all below, A heart whose love is innocent!
Hey there...I know you sew...I have a ton a nice print fabric I want to make 20's and 30's dresses out of....I noticed that butterick has brought back the old patterns...i think i have seen...that look like these pics.....
and this one you can always embelish the top of this basic style....wide round collars and big bows were in.
I am glad to hear you are feeling better. You have everything going for you; just try to stay focused on the positive side of life and release yourself to simply enjoy the moments !!
Hi Juliette, I read your current blog and tried to post this picture. I'm not sure if it posted (I got an error message) so I thought I'd post it on your main page. I didn't write these words but I believe them with all my heart.
