   About little st.
Springing forth from Newcastle's vibrant original music scene is a young band they like to call little street (little st). That is, us. Starting out in 2005 as a trio, little st only really started developing their unique style and sound when Michael crashed the party brandishing his bass guitar and they expanded to a 4-piece supergroup.

Disillusioned with the petty bubblegum pop being lapped up by their generation, these four strapping young lads were inspired by such names as Silverchair, Radiohead and Ben Folds Five. This combined with a rare enthusiasm and raw energy when all powers combine has resulted in a deadly cocktail of quirky alternative rock.

Their debut EP, 'EP', was recorded live in a small sweaty room during early 2007 and released to widespread smalltalk across the back fence. It is available at any show for just $6.

The band are currently taking a break from the live scene, focussing on recording their debut album and other commitments. This break is, however, likely to break at any time, so keep your ears to the ground.

Reform APRA

Oct 19 2008 12:54 PM

The basic difference between ASCAP and APRA is simple at the core. The ASCAP contract is non-exclusive where as the APRA contract is exclusive. When you give exclusive control to your copyright upto an NGO governed by corporate monopolists, strange things happen with your copyright. Strange illusions and explanations about copyright evolve through more NGO's that explain themselves to be councils for the people. The corporations have both sides of the coin and you by the balls, as they do with most things. The commons is most likely not the solution, yet exclusive control of your copyright, is for sure not the solution. You are tied to a Union that is a lie. APRA is lie and you have fallen for it. Its on par with the fed reserve... get out while you can, ASCAP is only a solution if you have something to collect. ASCAP in the US allow artists to license their art using any creative commons license and remain a member. Australian artists can join/transfer to ASCAP. Your in breech of your APRA contract with your content on myspace, yet myspace have agreed to pay the publishers for use of their content, yet not you the artist without a publisher, for use of your content... what to do? line up for some funding from the arts council... so the government build more trains for the first class passangers.

Aug 4 2008 7:53 AM

Look forward to hearing them. Any future plans for Little St or is that it for now.

And about the demo CD, we'll probably delay it a bit. The current one's full of shitty demos that we're not to proud of (which exceptions of course) so I might make a new one with listenable tracks to send out to everyone instead.
lol

Aug 3 2008 12:15 PM

Absolutely!

We're just waiting a little bit for a few more people to order to prevent multiple visits to the post office.

Glad it went so well. Wish I was there. Play any new songs? Anyway, if you come to Adelaide in the future and need a support act, you know where to find us.
lol
