**Demo Submisions** I get a lot of requests from bands via myspace to listen to their music. I do my best to listen to all the requests I get and respond. However, the best way to get me to listen is to send a CD. Please drop me a message or send me an email for the address.
LittleThink is run by Stephen Powell, the voice behind the Bristol band FIRSTOFTHEGIANTS
Our initial aim is to put on shows in and around Bristol with bands that we want to play with. Basically, after a while of playing for Bristol promoters we're getting a little bit tired of playing with bands that don't suit our style and sometimes make very little effort to promote their gigs. Seeing as we end up doing most of the work for them we figure why not just do the whole thing ourselves anyway. We hope to be able to put on shows that are good enough to attract Bristol's huge music loving population on their own merit and not just friends of the bands.
Why will we be good for your band I hear you ask? Well, sometimes promoters take on too much work. They can become saturated with bands to the extent that they can't focus on any one band enough to give them the attention they need. At LittleThink we won't be putting on shows more than once every 2 months or so, so we will be able to promote each show to best of our ability. We also don't expect to take any money from the gigs beyond our costs (venues, flyers and the like). We know how stressful it can be for a band to know they have to bring people and sometimes this can draw away from the experience of playing gigs!
There is no set music style inherent in LittleThink. In fact, the more eclectic the better. Hopefully this is evident in the bands that we have playing with us. We also hope to bring in bands from outside of Bristol to enrich the local scene with originality and diversity. Looking to the future, our ultimate goal is to be able to offer local artists the chance to release their music on an artist friendly label without the constraints of the fundamentally capitalist music industry.
Hopefully this all sounds appealing to everyone. If not then feel free to call us names but don't throw sticks because they hurt.
Hey. Thanks for the add. If you've got a couple of minutes spare then check out Fatsoma.com, our online promotion platform. You will find it useful for event promotion, to get more exposure and sell tickets online. Cheers, Ray.
