LIVE REVIEW - The Step Inn - Fri Jul 4 w/ EVEN + THE SPAZZYS + TRACEY REDHEAD, Rave Magazine, by Matt Thrower.
As the Sister Rock roadshow hits the Step Inn, travelling minstrels Even, The Spazzys and Tracy Redhead also invite locals Little Vegas And The Fuzz Parade to get nice ‘n rowdy. The group, ranging in age from 17 to 28, are particularly noticeable for the shimmying, tambourine-toting stage presence and enormous voice of frontwoman Sabrina Lawrie (formerly of Tongue), who leads the group through a bluesy garage punk party of a set. Marvellous.
LIVE REVIEW - The Step Inn 3rd Nov 2007 W/ The Mess Hall.
By Gumbuoy
The room is full and the atmosphere electric when Little Vegas & The Fuzz Parade take the stage, and the band take full advantage. They manage to cram nearly a dozen of their short-and-sharp, three minute, power-pop rock songs into the 30 minute set, with frontwoman Sabrina singing, laughing and wailing her way through her charismatic performance. Guitarists Will and Byron provide the crunchy chords, while Pete on bass and Tom on drums keep the momentum going. The faster these guys go, such as on the breakneck I Burn Books, the better they are, and the crowd respond with raucous cheering. Little Vegas & The Fuzz Parade are one of the musical finds of the year, and definitely one of the bands to watch in 2008 – if you get a chance to see ‘em, don’t miss it for love or money.
TIME OFF REVIEW: Fri 16th March 2007 @ The Zoo
by Justin Grey
Little Vegas And The Fuzz Parade frontwoman Sabrina Lawrie is a rock and roll super(front)woman in the making - she saunters round the stage lustfully, ripping out a thunderous vocal and shaking her tambourine like there's no tomorrow. Set opener 'Only Gonna Say It Once' exemplifies her great set of lungs, while the band excels on 'Curse You Later' and 'Hooray Hooray' with swaggering, AC/DC-esque riffs. For such a young band, these guys are mighty impressive!
FASTERLOUDER REVIEW: @ The Zoo
by Queen Nahs
Next on the bill, with a powerhouse banshee vocalist and unyeilding guitar progressions, Little Vegas and The Fuzz Parade take the evening up a knotch or ten. Some definite influences are spotted in the musicianship, it’s all distortion and gain on the power chords, but done in a way that this punter very much enjoys alla BRMC, MAG, Brian Jonestown Massacre, early Jane’s et al. Spied as Brisvegasian indie offspring, Sabrina Lawrie of Tongue infamy, the influences and raucous vocal stylings harkening back to Joplin, PJ and other levels of ear tunnelling hardcore rasping coming out of this raven haired dynamo all make sense. Tracks Curse You Later, Happy to Know and Dare You are all belted out with gutsy aplomb, wild stage coverage and frantic beatings on a white tambourine. A slot on an xtreme sport soundtrack is not beyond the realms of reality for these guys in years to come.

Brisbane outfit Toy Balloon will release their debut album Toy Division on
November 8 through Lofly Records, and to celebrate will perform an east coast
launch tour throughout November.
Formed in 2007, Toy Balloon was
originally a fledgling two-piece made up by Nimai Etheridge’s uniquely melodic
wall-of-sound guitar and Greg Cooper’s beautiful sequenced electronic
compositions. The band have since matured into a four piece featuring Chloe
Cooper (Mr Maps) on key boards and Ben Green on drums.
The album was
recorded and mixed at the Lofly Hangar in Brisbane, a DIY performance space that
Toy Balloon has been an integral part of creating. Fostering emerging artists
and left-of-centre music, the Hangar acts as a performance space, recording
studio, and meeting place; and has resulted in a record with a rich, layered
sound reminiscent of New Order, Mogwai, Boards of Canada, and LCD
Soundsystem.
