..lots to love about wistful tunes about long walks, death and regret. Vocalist Bennie Reilly is sublime, and is possessed of a vocal as seductive and mournfully melancholic as the music she fronts.

Three lads, three lasses and a set of pretty songs with hearts of darkness.. At times the trio of females reminded some more senior (mentioning no names) audience members of The Marine Girls; rest assured, that is no bad thing.

The textured melodies and Bennie Reilly’s soft, mouse-sized voice make it easy to like the indie-folksters’ debut – and there’s even more that’ll make you love it. They can do pastoral just as well as The Earlies, with harmonies like wind instruments played by friendly ghosts (‘(She’ll Use You) Lou’). However, they can carry off the harder stuff equally well – check out the sludgy guitar of ‘Sleepwalking’. This EP feels like watching an autumn day from inside, and the songs are just long enough for you to lie back in them.

(T)his new unit take indie-folk as a base for sweet, cute and deceptively hard-hitting songs. Think Rilo Kiley with very vicious knobs on.

Single of the Week - little xs for eyes EP
..the debut five track mini album from this new irish based outfit…features some really lovely downbeat country tinged folk sounds with comparisons to the likes of Mazzy Star meets Cat Power or even Neko Case, the opening two tracks are two of the most beautiful alt country tracks sounding like a more laid back Cowboy Junkies with the almost whispered vocal delivery of Hope Sandoval, really lovely stuff well worthy of your attention

little xs for eyes … If there was any sun this summer, the music that they make would be a good accompaniment to it. It's airy, harmony-laden, ethereal, sweet, relaxing, and quality of course.

the band play some deliciously harmonious music that will have you floating off into the sky with a blissful smile etched to your mug..
they've all kind of cool instruments, including a glockenspiel, ukelele, and double bass...for an indication of what they sound like i'd say think Reindeer Section doing Carpenters covers... well its close enough..

little xs for eyes features current and former members of *inhales* Life After Modelling, Butterfly Explosion and 66E. "On paper" is only deadly so it is.
Pure meditative drone from Europe to the US. There is definitely something happening here, but you wont know what it is. Evelyn War is all about opening doors, this stuff is haunting. Guyute brings bliss out of, guitars, synths, sculpted white noise and field recordings. A sojourn to the other-side.... Hand dubbed on white c37s with contour map labels, cardstock j-card and printed inserts, edition of 40

yeah....they stopped serving soup and became Brisbane's premier indie venue. Brisbane (like dublin) seems to have a knack with producing cool bands (us excluded!)
