Les chandelles Cinéma, the only candlelit Cinema in Exeter, gather around a candlelit table with friends, share a pitcher of beer or a bottle of wine and enjoy a bite to eat from the menu. Every Les chandelles Cinéma we’ll be showing a specially chosen independent or foreign film for your viewing and enjoyment. What a great time to spend a Sunday evening! This night tends to run on the last Sunday of the month, see listings for more info
Red Or Dead our monthly shows that will be made up of mainly local bands and no doubt the odd touring band. The night is aimed towards local bands though as we feel it's important to give them somewhere to play.
HUB PROMOTIONS at Collision. Every Friday night at Timepiece we will be putting on live music in the bar as part of Collision, the longest running indie/alternative club night in the Westcountry. We will be putting on the best of the local circuit, up and coming national and some bigger acts.
Over the coming months HUB PROMOTIONS will be relaunching Down To The Wire at a new location in Exeter, five acoustic acts will be playing every week and the drinks will be real cheap! We will also be launching a couple different nights across Exeter so keep an eye out for them.
HUB originally opened as a venue in September 2006.
One of our main aims when HUB opened, was to establish a local venue that gives local bands the chance to play there first gig, and to provide a platform from which to develop and grow. We also wanted to improve the music scene in Exeter by bringing acts from around the world of different genre's, we did this successfully for just under three years. HUB became the most diverse venue in the South West. Unfortunately we had to leave the building HUB was in June 2009 when the owners of the building (Heavitree Brewery) came into financial difficulty and sold the premises.
HUB hasn't died there though. We have started HUB PROMOTIONS with the same aims as before. We refuse to let Exeter's scene die with the loss of HUB. HUB PROMOTIONS will still be putting on shows in various places around the city including Timepiece and Centre Spot.
Some of the acts we bought to Exeter during are time as a venue include...
Robots In Disguise, Yeasayer, Elliot Minor, Operator Please, Star Fucking Hipsters, I-DEF-I, Ginger (The Wildhearts), Spunge, panic Cell, Catch 22, Hot Club De Paris, Big D and the Kids Table, The Dexateens, Eternal Lord, Westbound Train, Thomas Tantrum, Son Of Dave, Luke Pickett, Streetlight Manifesto, My Vitriol, Glasvegas, The King Blues, Babar Luck, Beardyman, Skream and loads loads more...
Since leaving HUB the venue, we have put on...
Nine Black Alps, Random Hand, The Skints, Left Over Crack
Tickets for HUB PROMOTION shows are available from....
