The energy, the passion, the true meaning of what hardcore is. That’s what the Long Island based band, Live Fast, Die Fast, is committed to in their music. Formed in the summer of 2008, Live Fast, Die Fast, is proud to carry the torch of the old-school hardcore scene. Their music is comparable to the likes of Black Flag, Sick Of It All, Kid Dynamite and Warzone. Live Fast, Die Fast was born out of the members desire to save what they believe is “true hardcore”. Vocalist Paul Turano, guitarist Lenny Leonardi, and bassist Rich Allegretta, all believe that their music has grown from what they all grew up on, and what they still hold in their hearts.
Once their old band, Act of Rites dismembered, Paul and Rich missed making and playing music as their way to open people’s minds about the world today. Enter Lenny, who was looking to play fast 1980’s style era hardcore and you have the creation of Live Fast, Die Fast.
They recorded their first EP, “The Rise and Fall of Nino Brown” in the Fall of 2008 and the response was overwhelming. Playing shows all over Long Island and the surrounding areas showed the band that there is still a fan base that clamors for what hardcore music is. Playing with bands such as Terror, Maximum Penalty, and Last Call Brawl, continues to help grow the loyal Live Fast, Die Fast fan base.
Their music will continue to carry on the spirit that is in all of us. Each of the members of Live Fast, Die Fast believes in the music that they create and they continue to engage the fuel of the hardcore fire that continues to burn in all of us.
