Influences
Where to begin? We’re basically rock whores, so picking just a few artists that are distilled into our rock cocktail is tough. If it has that "grab you by the balls" factor, it has probably touched us in a special way at some point: Beatles, The Who, Rolling Stones, Kinks, Clapton, Hendrix, Doors, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Rush, David Bowie, AC/DC, Neil Young, Bob Marley, ZZ Top, Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd, Paul Simon, SRV, Boston, Ramones, Mission of Burma, Aerosmith, The Clash, Van Halen, U2, Iron Maiden, The Damned, Judas Priest, The Cars, Def Leppard, Billy Idol, Metallica, Motley Crue, Husker Du, Bon Jovi, REM, Bad Religion, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Janes Addiction, Meat Puppets, Social Distortion, The Cult, Run DMC, Guns n’ Roses, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, Faith No More, NWA, The Black Crowes, Pearl Jam, Fugazi, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Radiohead, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, The La’s, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, STP, 311, Stone Roses, Live, Wilco, Sublime, Retarted Elf, Pavement, Beck, Oasis, G. Love and Special Sauce, Soulhat, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Bob Schneider, Ween, Rage Against the Machine, Tool, Podunk, Steamroller, Dave Grohl, Fu Manchu, Supergrass, Grand Champeen, Queens of the Stone Age, Kelly Bell, Gomez, Ted Leo, Tenacious D, Weezer, Kings of Leon... to name a few.... Here we are covering one of them:
Liver Damage: Two guitars, one evil plan.
Adam, the voice in the band is a classically-trained composer, who can also manipulate a guitar or the weak-of-mind with Jedi-like ease. With influences from Paul Simon to Frank Zappa to Tool, Adam distills his melodies from an eclectic range of music. The other half of the band, Brad, is all guitar. Since he found his first six string in the middle of an enchanted lake, he’s been balls to the wall - nothing more nothing less - ever since. Brad rips off Toni Iommi, Angus Young, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Paige, Keith Richards, Alex Lifeson, Todd Park Mohr, Billy Corgan, and Mike McCready on a daily basis when writing songs, shredding solos, and executing the Plan.
They started as friends who talked music over bathtub gin and beer. They soon began to make terrible noise in Brad’s basement, crafting a sound and frightening neighbors. The terrible noise evolved into some groovin’ rock songs that they decided to share with the masses. Liver Damage is an evolving band – Adam and Brad get stronger and play something new every week, leeching strength from their vanquished enemies. They want people to know that when LD is playing, if they stay home, they are missing something big.
