ABOUT STAR OF 59 - Fast preceding the rumblings of many of South Wales local talent Star of 59 have emerged as a prominent force in the live music scene in and around South Wales. Three years have seen the creation of 3 glorious EPs, causing a spark of critical acclaim from the likes of producer John David of Javelin Records, and the press. The Eps have sold out at gigs, and the boys' most recent effort - recorded with Loz Williams - garnered airplay on Radio 1. Gigs come far and wide, and since first stepping foot into Londons vibrant gig life with a show at Camden's notorious Caernarvon Castle the boys havent looked back. Cardiff, London, Newport, Bristol, Bath, Usk and Swansea are just some of the places that have seen an invasion of sweeping melodies and all out rock. This band's style could make you reminisce with thoughts of 70s rock or Clash-esque style riffary, coated with potent lyrics and a more vibrant, contemporary feel.
