About me:
Carl “C-MAN” Anderson is a vigorous and resourceful musician, innovative producer, adaptable singer, and self-taught drummer extraordinaire. As a young boy, he started his own Go-Go band "Occupation" and youth gospel group "Unified" and has performed on over 15 various recordings. Throughout his childhood, his talents allowed him to travel beside his father, the late Evangelist Kenneth Frederick Anderson Sr. and the gospel quartet sensation the Dynamic Traveleers of Annapolis, MD of which his father was a founding member. These experiences would later prove to be the foundation of who we now know to be the solid drummer with the quick foot, “C-Man”. This journey that he is on, has taken him all over the nation. Some of his gospel credits include The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Twinkie Clark, Sam Cooke's band The Soulsters, The Nightingales and Richard Smallwood. He has and continues to play for many secular musical artists such as Art Sherrod Jr., The Drifters and Matt Marshak just to name a few. Since the age of 5, Carl Anderson has aspired to one day live out his dream of positively influencing great multitudes through his music. As a young African-American male growing up in Annapolis, MD, Carl experienced circumstances within his own life that were both positively and negatively challenging which has ignited his passion for helping others with different needs. With Carl's gift of discernment and through his enormous faith in God, he has been able to overcome the obstacles that young African American males tend to face when trying to accomplish their dreams and goals. His diligence to stay focused and to be true to his calling in an ever changing society allows him use the gifts that God gives him. He recently started a band called Connected that is composed of some of the most gifted and accomplished musicians from the MD area. Together they will display great musicianship, skill and motivation during the LIVE THE DREAM 2008 CONCERT at the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, Annapolis, MD. We Care and Friends is a 501c3 non-profit organization that serves people who are without resources in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. This organization aims to bring the Village of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County together, in order to tear down the barriers created by drugs, poverty and crime. We Care and Friends involves Annapolis communities in positive activities such as the LIVE THE DREAM 2008 CONCERT where 25 local youth will be sponsored to attend by the Annapolis Yacht Club. In combination with increasing people's resource awareness, We Care and Friends feel their work will build a strong and continuous family structure. In conjunction with We Care and Friends, Carl hopes to bring hope to his audience by presenting various resources this organization so diligently provides. Carl's vision is to continue to preserve his father's memory Evangelist Kenneth Frederick Anderson, Sr. and his loving mother Ada Spencer Anderson by giving back to young people. Carl has made a significant contribution to the music industry by his continuous performances at various music venues throughout the Maryland, D.C. metropolitan areas. He has earned a reputation as one of the most acclaimed percussionist throughout his career. He has captivated many audiences with his concrete pocket groove for over 20 years. His music promotes harmony, peace & love and has a soulful sound. Carl is presently performing with Art Sherrod, Jr., Shang, Phillip Martin, Matt Marshak, Terri S. and The Zionnaires just to name a few. He is living out his dreams. The journey is continuing and he is grateful to all those helping him leave an impact in the community through this concert and in future endeavors.
