VODAFONE LIVE AWARDS:The prestigious Vodafone Award Ceremony takes place annually at the Carling Academy in Brixton, London. The red carpet is rolled out for a host of celebrities and industry buffs who witness performances from the most current and popular music acts. Last year’s performances included: Mark Ronson, The Ting Tings, Glasvegas, Will Young, James Morrison, Estelle, Pussycat Dolls, The Automatics and Primal Scream to name but a few. Future Music Management through Live and Unsigned partnered the awards hosting the award for the UK’s Best Unsigned Act.Vodafone’s Sponsorship Manager for the UK Belinda Stevenson stated “We are very excited to be working with Live and Unsigned at the Vodafone Live Music Awards. They are a great fit for our Unsigned Act award and we look forward to discovering some big talent together.” Former Live and Unsigned winners Kiddo 360 went on to scoop an award, winning the coveted title as the UK’s Best Unsigned Act at the Vodafone ceremony collecting their trophy from Steve Jones and Juliette Lewis. Elmor (Live and Unsigned Grand Finalists) placed second. Awards were also taken away by Kate Nash (Best Female), The Ting Tings (Best Live Breakthrough Act), Mark Ronson (Best Male), Primal Scream (Outstanding Contribution to Live Music Award & Best Live Act), Kings of Leon (Best International Act) and The Spice Girls (Best Live Return). At the live shows the contestants will be competing for a place in the National Showcase Grand Final at the Live and Unsigned Festival. Those obtaining the highest scores from the judge’s marks and the audience votes will progress through to the National Grand Final.THE WINNERS :The Live and Unsigned Festival is the climax of the competition and is an all day event packed full of entertainment, including headline acts, across three arenas at the 02 in London. The overall winner crowned the UK’s best Live and Unsigned act of 2010 will be thrust into the media spotlight through television, radio and print media and be invited on the UK Live and Unsigned Tour – exposing their music to over 40,000 people. Competing in the National Grand Final gives artists the opportunity to be crowned the UK’s best Live and Unsigned act.
