About me:
I was born in Saigon, Vietnam and immigrated to the United States as a refugee at the end of the Vietnam War in the spring of 1975. I received a BBA in Business Management and a Master of Science in Science and Technology Commercialization from the University of Texas at Austin. I am multilingual. I worked and traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America, Canada, and the United States.
I was the Director of NTEC (North Texas Enterprise Center for Medical Technology). Prior to joining NTEC I spent 16 years in Start-up Ventures and Management Consulting in the areas of Sales, Marketing, Finance, Information Technology, and Multimedia. I have continued interest in leading-edge technologies including the life sciences sectors of medical devices, biotechnology, and nanotechnology.
I'm now semi-retired and is an advisor to many first time entrepreneurs. In addition, I'm involved with the Center for Space Nuclear Research and various volunteer projects including the Prison Entrepreneurship Program. Furthermore, I'm an author, having published LIVING IN PARADOX, Perspectives of a Refugee Made in America (#1 Local Bestseller, Shakespeare Beethoven & Co., January 2007).
