SLE
Could these young talented musicians from South London be the next big thing? Yes! These guys are about to explode with the success of their underground hit ‘U May Think That’ released in October 2001. They are also featured on both up and coming albums, ‘On Road’ movie and soundtrack, and ‘This Life’ which is due out at the end of this year.
The group consists of three members, Living in Sin, Shameless Money and J-Thrilla who all met at a very young age and decided to make a rap act called SLE (South London Elements.)
SLE controlled “On a Rise 2001”, have more big tunes on “On a Rise 2002”, one of which is planned to be released as a single as well as releasing their own album
next year. Before signing to YDS these boys had records that they distributed themselves, then record companies showed interest in signing them. “Move over Coolio, step over Snoop Doggy Dogg and make way for the new Hip-hop band set to take London by Storm.” This quote was taken from the South London Press in 1998. They were right!
Between 1995 and 1996, they entered numerous talent shows and won most while coming second in the rest. By the age of 16, they were P.As for the biggest clubs in London alongside receiving magazine attention. Performing with established artists from the US and UK has also added to their popularity. They have supported the likes of Grammy Award Winning Artist, Coolio, Cappadonna (Wu Tang), MOP, Shola Ama, Shai and Foxy Brown.
In 2001, they helped people affected in India by Earthquakes through performing and donating all the proceedings to the cause as well as doing adverts for Asian Digital Television. They recently blew up the 3 Wise Men show on Bassline FM and are constantly air-played By Choice FM’s CK Flash and a number of pirate Radio stations.
SLE are also attracting a vast amount of media attention from widely read magazines such as, Eastern Eye and Hip Hip Connection. They are currently working on their first solo project ‘The Great Fire of London.’
