ROCK AND ROLL SOUND BABY!!!
Livin in a valvestate are superb. I first saw them over 2 years ago in Torquay and they rocked.
Lot's of noise, a fresh sound and a ton of talent.
That's Livin in a valvestate
Started in Torquay in 2004 the idea of Livin in a Valvestate was conceived by lead guitarist Damian Seymour with the aid of his younger brother Dom and friend Rob Dowall, from the very start it was always the goal of the band to entertain crowds by means of a flamboyant front man and lead guitar attack whilst being backed by the solid foundations of a powerful rhythm section. Within a few months the band had recruited Matt Featherstone for lead vocals and Sam hall on drums. Influences came from bands such as AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Motley crue, Metallica, Aerosmith and Ozzy and still do to this day. During 2005 the band entered and won convincingly the Torbay schools battle of the bands, and during the first twenty two months of the bands existence they found themselves featured no less than thirty five times in the local newspapers and media magazines, none of these features included gig listings. The band now gigging locally started gaining approval from fans and landlords alike being noticed for their classic sound despite their ages, as time progressed the band improved musically and began playing further a field playing as far as south Yorkshire in their first full year of gigging. The following year the band played support to Pete Way of Waysted and UFO on Waysted’s back from the dead tour at the Halfmoon in Paignton, also playing two dates with Juicy Lucy on their “do that and you’ll lose it tour.” And working with Jason Bittner of shadow falls on his meinl cymbals drums clinic tour Whilst also playing at all the local outdoor music festivals and obtaining headline status on a few. At the end of 2006 the band entered the studio to record a five track ep of original material named “The train to hell”. 2006 also saw the band support Girlschool at the BMAD bike festival in Paignton which ended in the band doing over 80 gigs that year which they still believe was a major achievement for a band with an average age of 14 at the time in Devon.
Midway through 2007 after various line-up changes the current line-up was cemented with three of the five original members, Damian, Dom and Rob and two new members Emlyn Newton and Sam Davies as Lead Vocalist and drummer respectively, the band were now moving forward with new focus, writing new rockier songs improving their stage show and set list by the gig.
During 2008 Original line up member Rob Dowall left the band to pursue his career ambition in becoming a session guitarist through obtaining higher education credentials in music leaving another Void which was soon filled by Howard spring ,Howie has brought style and stage presence to the band whilst establishing him self as a competent bass player.
The unique name has always caused interest as to its origins, the answer lies with Damian looking to call the band "Valvestate" followed up by a sarcastic comment by a parent regards what it feels like having two powerful guitar amps in the house for practice.
Towards the end of 2008 the band wrote and recorded their latest Ep “Smile Now, Cry Later which is due for release early in 2009 Production and recording of the Ep was done by Ex Chief Mixing engineering of The Kinks, Joe Gibb who also recorded Funeral for a friends debut Ep.

WOW, this is a great rock demo. To be honest I'm very surprised Livin in a valvestate hasn't been signed to any major record label. You've got that BIG rock sound that if in the right hands could sell a lot of albums. Every once in a while you do come across a great sounding band through myspace and this is the first one for me. The main thing is I know what can sell and what won't sell. As you can imagine all I ever do is listen to music Bu.t just so you know you will get there soon. And as the saying goes all good things do come to those who wait. Keep kicking ass guys and good luck with everything.**Metal Head Kris**The Metal Head Radio Show***
