Two words “Power Trio.” In a nutshell that is what LIX is all about. LIX is comprised of two brothers and their childhood friend. With a drummer as lead vocalist, a guitar player that has virtuosity in his blood, and a spark plug for a bass player LIX has every ingredient to make them a standout rock band. Opposed to the standard method of having a “front man”, LIX brings a fresh look to the rock world.
Their music is a very diverse spectrum of emotions, energy, and meaningful insight. The influences they tap from are vast but one can definitely see a connection to some of the forefathers of rock such as Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and Van Halen. Don’t let their influences fool you however into thinking LIX is just another “wannabe” rock band trying to copy the sound of legends. They have the talent and creativity to set them apart.
Brad Brockmeyer has been compared, by fans and musicians, to some the greatest guitar players of our time such as Eric Johnson, Angus Young, and Joe Satriani. Jay Landgraf, who writes most of the songs and lyrics, has an acute sense of creativity and brings that flavor to every song LIX writes. Derek Landgraf, who helps with much of the songwriting, adds a dynamic punch to all of their live performances. This in turn allows their songwriting and performances to be unique and transcend across many genres
LIX has a strong dedication to music and believes in the impact it can bring to others. Their musical journey has taken them from their home in the Chicago suburbs to the entertainment capital of the world Los Angeles, California. Look to hear a great deal more from this band in the near future.
