If you've had a chance to see Lix play live you'd think that you've seen or heard of them before. Not that you'd necessarily recognize their music or faces, but their show and music is polished to the point that you'd swear you're listening to a label backed, national act. That's the kind of impression that is constantly conveyed to new audiences and fans alike each time Lix takes the stage. Despite appearances Lix has yet to sign to a major label, but the band firmly believes in timing, and while their time has not yet hit, they are confident it will soon.
Now don't get me wrong, Lix has had measured success over the years playing with major national acts (Gin Blossoms, Saliva, Ra) at major venues (Whisky a Go Go, Clearwater Theatre), but they've yet to make their "big break". This may appear a deterrent, something that would make them think they don't have what it takes, but reality has to play it's part in any rock and roll dream. And the reality is that being a rock star is hard work. You don't wake up one day and just step into the limelight without having what it takes, and thanks to years of perseverance, Lix does have what it takes.
In a sense they've already done it all. They've worked contacts to set up shows, network with bands, play big venues, promote themselves, get radio airplay, and articles in both print and online media. They've practiced tenaciously over the years individually and as a group to make sure they're up to snuff with any act they play with. They've spent thousands of hours recording demos and writing music to set them apart from the majority of acts out there. They've been "on the road" from the west coast to the midwest playing shows. So why haven't they "made it" yet? The answer is really quite simple. There is no known formula or method that guarantees super star success in the music industry today. The only thing known for sure is that if you want to make it you have to work at it for as long as it takes to get noticed. You have to grind it out, which is exactly what Lix is doing.
Lix will continue to persevere and pursue their dream of rock stardom as their efforts don't go unnoticed and still bear fruit. Lix is currently working on an album with an up and coming producer and have been traveling a lot to rehearse and continue the evolution of their live performance. Lix has what it takes. They have the music, the performance ability, and most importantly the passion that continues to drive them towards a dream. The only question is, will you be someone who goes to see them after they blow up, or will you be one of the people that saw them live and got to hang with them before they were rock stars?
