Liza is influenced by many performers, but in particular Ella Fitzgerald, Carol King,Suzanne Vega, Joni Mitchell, Eva Cassidy, Ani Defranco, Kate Bush and Paul Simon.
Her music is influenced by pop, jazz, musical theatre, soul, Motown, African and Latin music.
Sounds Like
Liza's style of music is really a fusion of genres. At its centre is pop/accoustic folk. Occasionally one can hear, blues, jazz and soul creeping through, these extra flavours always allow for diversity and variety when listening.
Liza Finn formed her band in December 2007, since then they have gigged all over London and performed as headliner at the Rock the Boat (charity concert in aid of The Cutty Sark). They have recently recorded a new cd with old and new songs.
2009 will see the band performing at larger venues around London and at festivals throughout the year.
